👉 2026 speaker: Siobhán McDonald @technarte #Bilbao looking forward to this! 🙌 "Invisible Herbarium" In a delicate enquiry using drawing, sound, and film, I explore the mystery of how the ancient plant Silene stenophylla was brought back to life from 32,000-year-old seeds. Silene stenophylla, a plant preserved in permafrost for millennia could re-emerge into life, carrying with it a profound narrative of time, resilience, and ecological memory. Siobhán works with natural materials, withdrawing them from their cycles of generation, growth and decay. This process gives form to a range of projects which consider our place on Earth in the context of geological time. Her artworks make use of natural phenomena and technologies to stage poetic and philosophical engagements between people and their natural world. Beginning with a specific site of investigation, Siobhán weaves diverse narratives into visual stories, often inviting nature itself to participate in the creative process.

👉 2026 speaker: Patricia Cadavid H. Patricia is an immigrant, artist, and researcher born in Colombia. In her work, she looks at the relationships and effects of coloniality in new media from the migratory experience and decolonial & anticolonial thinking. Her recent research is focused on the vindication of the memory contained in the ancestral interfaces of the Andes from Abya Yala, taken away by colonization and their connections with art and science, reusing them in new artistic processes related to video, sound interfaces, tangible live coding, and multimedia performance. Patricia is pursuing a doctoral degree in the College of Arts, Technology, and Environment at the University of the West of England – UWE Bristol. She holds a MA from Interface Culture (Kunstuniversität Linz). Her work has been exhibited in festivals such as Ars Electronica (Austria), ADAF (Greece), MATE (Portugal), the NIME conference, and several spaces in the United States, Chile, Mexico, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Colombia. #NewMediaArt #ArtAndScience #VideoArt #SoundArt #TangibleInterface #LiveCoding #MultimediaPerformance #ContemporaryArt #ElectronicMusic #SoundPerformance #AncestralTechnologies #InteractiveArt #VisualArt #CulturalMemory #ArtResearch

2026 Speaker: Javier Osés Martínez de Zúñiga Javier Osés is a researcher, teacher and university lecturer. From the very beginning of his research career, he has maintained a strong scientific and artistic interest. Over the years, he has collected a range of materials with high aesthetic and artistic potential and, in his spare time, has explored ways to investigate their synthesis and modification, as well as the physical principles behind the microscopic processes that create aesthetic changes in matter. Building on the work he has carried out in this area since 2015, he developed a new concept of scientific-artistic creation, which in 2020 led him to launch Hidden Reflections, a project through which he shares some of the knowledge generated as an artist-researcher and reveals the hidden beauty on the surface of materials. #MicroArt #MaterialScienceArt #LightArt #MicroscopyArt #HiddenReflections #VisualPatterns #OpticalPhenomena #ExperimentalArt #VisualArt #ArtAndScience #ContemporaryArt #SurfaceInteractions #ScientificArt #ColorInterference #NanoArt

👉 2026 Speaker: Aleksandra Przybysz Aleksandra Przybysz is an artist and researcher and a graduate of the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She also studied at the Sound and Image Department of Escola das Artes in Porto, and she is currently a second-year PhD candidate in artistic practice at the University of the National Education Commission in Kraków. She works with Timothy Morton’s concept of hyperobjects—vast ecological phenomena such as climate change, radiation, and toxic waste that are difficult to grasp yet profoundly shape our lives. She approaches these issues interdisciplinarily, drawing on posthumanist horror as well as sculpture, text, and sound practices. She is particularly interested in concepts of natural history that include toxic events and those caused by invasive human activity. In her work, art does not serve merely an illustrative function; instead, it becomes a method of inquiry capable of generating alternative models for describing contemporary natural history. #InterdisciplinaryArt #ContemporaryArt #NewMediaArt #ArtAndTechnology #ExperimentalArt #ConceptualArt #MediaArt #ArtPractice #ArtResearch #VisualArt #ArtInnovation #CreativePractice
