Romita, GTO in anamorphic💘
My family immigrated from here in the early 90s and landed in south central. Mom’s was about 15 when she came. GTO is known for frogs and silver. Or la calle del beso. It’s what my family calls home.
Thanks Ammar for the lenses and Alan for help on color (I didn’t do a good job forgive me).
My uncle Frank sold me my first video camera when I was 10 (I paid way too much — still love you tio). I’d write all my scripts in my teal journal with my brother and cousins acting it all out back when we lived off 80th in our second floor apartment. My dad graciously helped Charlie and I edit the video on imovie. We’d then burn the shorts into a DVD and sell them to my tios and tias. A few of them bought them. Funny how many years later we’d be doing the same thing.
Decided to make a reel of all the work the team and I have done in the past year or so.
Thanks to everyone who’s worked on them. Charlie, Alan, Ian, Faith, Joann, Jeffrey, Gerson, Nate, Kendall, Melissa, abel, sofia, drea, and Tommie
TRES a short film that plays more like a music playlist.
A love letter to home. Three vignettes centered on one south central home underscored by music my mom would probably play on a saturday morning.

My mom’s favorite bible verse at the moment is Psalm 23 and she made my dad write it out on a sheet of paper. After the verse she wrote the repeated phrase, “asi sera.”
