Proud of our competitors today in speed finals! Alina with a first place finish and Declan with a fourth place finish. Both on the Youth US National team for speed. Great job to all the other competitors that went out and gave it everything. #trusttheprocess @mesarimsd
We are so proud of our athletes who competed this weekend at Sport and Speed Regionals! Thanks to our home gym @mesarimsd for taking on hosting the competition last minute, the @usacsocal Regional Coordinators, the volunteers, and our parents— especially the moms, many of who spent Mother’s Day at the competition! #riskitforthebiscuit #trusttheprocess #goclimb
The Team Mesa Rim girl squad representing this weekend at our @mesarimsd Sport local competition! Regionals is less than a month away and we can’t wait to put our training to the test 💥 #usaclimbing #goclimb
Proud of our kids and grateful for our parents (the support behind the lens)! On to Nationals💥 Thanks to @theboulderfield for hosting a great competition, @usacsocal and @usacnorcal RCs for keeping everything in order, the volunteers for their work, and congrats to the other teams and athletes!! #trusttheprocess #goclimb #bouldering
We are in Championship Bouldering season and #teammesarim started off with a bang taking home the Regional Championship Team title. Sender One LAX put on a great competition which wouldn’t have been possible without the work of the setters, volunteers, staff, and RCs. Congrats to all the other 202 teams and competitors!! We are excited for Divisionals in January and even more excited to see our own @bren_climbs on the @usaclimbing poster for this season’s events! #goclimb #trusttheprocess #usaclimbing
Happy belated thanksgiving everyone! This year we are thankful for all of the parents, athletes, coaches, setters and volunteers that make the season possible. Here’s to the first ever adopt-a-grom challenge! #trusttheprocess #gromcup
Caught, in a moment of visualization. Bouldering season is in full swing and George is seen here demonstrating that training for climbing isn’t always on the wall. #trusttheprocess #goclimb #mesarimsd
We are so proud of MJR @nikolas_karolides . He has been on Team since we started and in his final season competing in Youth qualified for the US Team in Sport Climbing! He heads to Moscow next week to represent the US at the Youth World Championships 👊. My last season in youth has been an incredible adventure. Super psyched to have made US team and be heading to Russia🇷🇺 for worlds!
Competing in nationals with so many strong and talented climbers is always inspiring and motivating. Last sport nationals I fell short of my goal of making semis by one place and this year was determined to make finals. I ended up exceeding my expectations by going into semis in 5th overall, and then barely making it into finals in 9th after slipping up a little in semis.
Going into finals I had lots of limiting beliefs that I wasn’t strong enough to do well among so many great climbers. Standing before the crowd at nationals I was reminded that I compete because I love to climb and challenge myself, and that my only limitations are those that I set for myself. A quote I heard from my coach’s summarizes what I believe is the most important mental truth about climbing. “climb for the love of winning, and not the fear of losing.” Before I climbed I let go of all my expectations and limiting beliefs. I had done well the past few days and anything could happen.
I fought through the finals climb almost falling but somehow sticking my last hold with three fingers and then reeling it in and getting useable on the next hold.
I came down from the climb happy that I had gave it my all and that I was satisfied with how I did even if I got last.
When the last climber slipped sealing my spot in 4th I couldn’t believe that I had made US team and yet so unbelievably psyched to go to Russia!

Sport and Speed Youth Nationals was a blast! Team Mesa Rim crushed, and we’re so proud of all our athletes! Now it’s time to relax, enjoy some sunshine in beautiful San Diego, and come back refreshed and psyched for bouldering season! #teammesarim #goclimb
Pre-Nationals camp! Lots of climbing, learning, and an ill-fated attempt at a pyramid from the older athletes (it’s about the process, right?). Thanks for coming out to train and climb with us @azrascenders , @thea_climbs@joeycatama@phoebeclimbs@clobester #trusttheprocess #goclimb #gotrain
What an amazing weekend! Another Sport & Speed Divisionals is in the books. Everyone showed up ready to climb at their absolute best and it showed in their performances! It was amazing to see all the hard work and training pay off. Thank you to all of the competitors, parents, judges, volunteers, and setters for making everything run smooth! Without you guys, this wouldn't be possible! Also thank you to @usaclimbing@mesarimsd for hosting such a great comp. Looking forward to Nationals!! #trusttheprocess #goclimb
Teammate support and positive energy was strong this weekend at Sport/Speed Regionals. Thanks to @senderone , the route setters, and volunteers for a great competition. #trusttheprocess
