teamLab Planets TOKYO in Toyosu, Tokyo was announced as the winner of the World Travel Awards 2025 for “Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2025” on October 13 at the ceremony in HongKong. This its second win following the 2023 award.
チームラボプラネッツは、2025年10月13日に香港で開催された「ワールド・トラベル・アワード（World Travel Awards）」アジア部門の受賞セレモニーにおいて、「アジアを代表する観光名所 2025（Asia's Leading Tourist Attraction 2025）」を受賞いたしました。これは、2023年に続いて2回目の受賞となります。
The World Travel Awards, which has its 32th anniversary this year, celebrates the best travel destinations based on votes not only from travel industry professionals but also regular voters. Wall Street Journal has described it as the travel “industry's equivalent of the Oscar's".
今年で32周年を迎えたワールド・トラベル・アワードは旅行業界の人たちだけでなく、一般消費者も加えた投票で、最も素晴らしい旅行先や施設を選出するアワードです。ウォールストリートジャーナル紙が「旅行業界のアカデミー賞」と評しました。

teamLab Planets TOKYO Reveals Entirety of the Newly Expanded Area, Featuring “Catching and Collecting Forest” and “Athletics Forest”. Opening January 22.

新たに「つかまえて集める森」や「運動の森」が誕生。1月22日(水) オープン。

The expansion increases the area of teamLab Planets by 1.5 times, introducing teamLab’s educational projects in an extensive space. The new additions include Athletics Forest, a complex, multi-dimensional creative athletic space; Catching and Collecting Forest where visitors can capture and study extinct animals; and Future Park, a collaborative space for co-creation. Over 20 new artworks will be exhibited across these spaces.
In addition, new spaces have been introduced to the museum, such as the 'Orchid Glass House,' where visitors can enjoy tea and drinks in an area where orchids, once fallen from the artwork Floating Flower Garden, are being regrown; the 'Living Art Store,' where visitors can take home the regrown orchids; and 'Sketch Factory,' where visitors’ drawings created within the artwork space are transformed into original products to take home. Additionally, the outdoor area, featuring the "Black Emptiness Table" where visitors can enjoy Vegan Ramen UZU Tokyo, will undergo a major renovation.
チームラボプラネッツは、約1.5倍に面積を拡張。大きく広がる空間は、教育的なプロジェクトで、様々な絶滅した動物を捕まえて観察する「つかまえて集める森」、複雑で立体的な立体思考の運動空間「運動の森」、そして共創（共同的な創造性）のための「学ぶ！未来の遊園地」からなり、20作品以上の作品群が公開されます。
また、作品空間の蘭の花が散った後、その蘭を再び育成している空間で、茶と酒を飲む「Orchid Glass House」や、再育成された蘭を持ち帰る「Living Art Store」、来館者が作品空間で描いた絵が、オリジナルのプロダクトになって持ち帰る「スケッチファクトリー」も新設。さらに、「Vegan Ramen UZU Tokyo」を食べる「Black Emptiness Table」を含む屋外スペースも大規模にリニューアルします。

Many water droplets flow down a slope.
A single droplet bounces like a ball, but when many are gathered together, they behave like water. When they break apart, they behave like a ball again.
When people climb the steps up the hill, the droplets near the step receive energy and break apart.
A water molecule on its own is not liquid. In order for water to be a liquid, many water molecules must come together.
Because water molecules act like magnets, they stick to each other, forming a group of water molecules (a water cluster). Water clusters have an extremely short lifespan and are thought to be constantly being created and broken apart.
They have a very dynamic structure and because of that, water can change into various forms.
Most living things and objects in this world, through properties that are more than the simple sum of the properties of their parts, appear as a whole.
たくさんの粒が、登り坂を流れ落ちていく。
粒は、1粒だとボールのように跳ね返えるが、たくさん集まると水のようにふるまう。粒は、バラバラにばらけるとまたボールのようにふるまう。
登り坂の踏み段を踏むと、踏み段付近の粒は、エネルギーを受け、弾けてバラバラにばらけてしまう。
水の分子は、水分子1つでは液体にならない。水という液体になるためには、水分子がたくさん集まることが必要だ。
水分子は磁石のような働きを持っているため、水分子間がつながり、水分子の集合（水クラスター）が形成される。水クラスターは極めて寿命が短く、絶えず生まれたり壊れたりしていると考えられている。つまり、非常に動的な構造をしているのだ。
そのため、水は様々な形に変化できる。
この世界の大半のモノや生物は、部分の性質の単純な総和にとどまらない性質が、全体として現れる。

This is a musical wall where little people live.
When stamps of various shapes such as mushrooms, sheep barns, or long sticks of ice are attached to the wall, these objects appear in the world of the little people.
Depending on the stamp, the little people will slide, jump, or climb on top of them. If the stamp is removed, the stamp in the world of the little people will remain for a moment longer before disappearing.
Attach various stamps to the wall, and see the little people’s world transform into a completely new world.
Seeds with smiley faces come falling down from above.
When the seeds hit the stamps, various notes in different pitches play depending on the type and position of the stamp they hit, eventually creating music.
この壁は、こびとたちが住んでいる奏でる壁。
キノコや羊小屋、長い氷の棒などいろいろな形のスタンプを壁にくっつけると、スタンプが、こびとたちの世界に出現する。
スタンプの種類によって、こびとたちはすべったり、ジャンプしたり、よじ登ったりする。スタンプを外すと、こびとの世界に出現したスタンプがこびとの世界にしばらく残る。
様々な種類のスタンプをくっつけていくことで、こびとの世界は大きく変化していく。
壁の上からは、ニコニコの種が落ちてくる。ニコニコの種がスタンプに当たると、スタンプの種類によって、いろいろな音色を奏でる。そしてスタンプの出現した壁の高さによって、その音色は音の高さが変わる。
様々なスタンプによって、壁は音楽を奏ではじめる。

Floating Flower Garden: Flowers and I are of the Same Root, the Garden and I are One
Floating Flower Garden: 花と我と同根、庭と我と一体

This floating flower garden consists of a three-dimensional mass of flowers.
The artwork space is completely filled with flowers, but as the flowers float up above people, open spaces are created.
Because of this, people are able to freely wander around the flower mass space.
If you encounter other people within the artwork, your space will connect with theirs and become one single space.
Zen gardens are said to have been created as a place for groups of Zen priests to carry out training in order to become one with nature.
There is a Zen kōan (a question or story that is part of Zen priests’ theological training) called “Nansen’s Flower”.
Someone asked the monk Nansen about the famous saying, “Heaven and I are of the same root. All things and I are of the same substance”, remarking on how wonderful it was.
Nansen, pointing to a flower in the garden, said, “People these days see this flower as if they were in a dream”.
In this work, people immerse themselves in flowers, becoming one with the garden.
When someone continues to look at a flower closely, the flower looks back.
At that moment, they become one with the flower and may truly see flowers for the first time.
花々が、立体的に埋め尽くされた花の塊であり、庭園である。
空間は花々で埋め尽くされているが、人がいる場所では、花が上がっていくことで、空間が生まれる。
そのため、人々は、花で埋め尽くされた塊の中を、自由な方向にゆっくりと歩き回ることができる。
作品の中で、他者と出会うと、それぞれの空間はつながり、1つの空間になる。
禅の庭園は、山の中で大自然と一体化するように修行を行っていた禅僧が集団で修行をするための場として、生まれてきたとも言われている。
禅の公案に「南泉一株花」というのがある。
僧肇の有名な句「天地と我と同根 万物と我と一体也」を、ある人が「也甚だ奇怪なり」と南泉和尚に問うた。
南泉和尚は「時の人この一株の花を見ること夢の如く相似たり」と言ったという。
本作は、人々が花々の中に埋没し、花と一体化する庭園である。
花を近くで見続けると、花もまた人を見はじめる。
その時、人は花と一体化し、はじめて花を見ていることになるのかもしれない。
