EXCLUSIVE: Shaquille O’Neal is stepping in as commissioner of ‘DUNKMAN,’ a new global competition platform set to launch in summer 2026 that will feature 24 elite dunkers competing across four group-stage events for a $500,000 prize.
The league introduces an Olympic-style scoring system and a season-long format designed to give pro dunkers consistent exposure beyond traditional one-night contests. "The best vs. the best, across five live events, using an Olympic-level scoring system, and putting up the biggest prize money in dunk history," Shaq told Boardroom.
Events will air across TNT, TBS, TruTV, and HBO Max, with additional content on Bleacher Report, House of Highlights, and YouTube.
