Chayse got out and filled his second tag on an awesome hunt. Got in early, listened to multiple birds wake up gobbling at every different noise they heard. (one of our favorite parts of Turkey hunting) Once they pitched down the pecking order started. 45 minutes of back and forth with the flock. We soft called and would get an occasional reply. Then this bird cut us off mid calling, so we ran with it. We put more excitement in our calling with some cutting and quicker tempo yelping. That’s all it took to fire him up. He broke off the morning flock and came over to check us out. Chayse laid the hammer down on him! This was Chayse’s first year filling both tags and we couldn’t be more proud of him. He’s deadly!

Went to chase them in the pine trees with one of the coolest dudes around. My long time friend @iannwoodd and I have had some fun adventures over the years. As life changes for us with kids and families of our own. One thing we always try to make time for is our annual turkey trip. This trip was a turn and burn because of work for us both, but man were we blessed with some quick hunts and multiple long beards coming in each time. Nothing like seeing these birds materialize through the timber! Until next year brother! -Riley

It’s okay if the turkey wins. About as close to catch and release as you can get! 30-35 yards. No shot, our buddy @aphil33 is tackling turkey season with a recurve. We played the game, so did he, we just needed him to cut the distance in half. Making due with the ground we had access to, he took the higher ground took a good long look and eased off. We get to play the game another day with him!

Waited until he got out of school and away we went. Hudson grabbed the box call and leafy suit he was ready to go. We located these birds pretty quick and made a move, got set up and waited them out. The memories made on this hunt are ones I hope to never loose. Hudson’s love for turkey hunting is growing more and more.
