This is what Jiu Jitsu is really about. It’s not just technique, not just who the coach is, and not just hard rounds. People stay because of the environment. You feel it as soon as you step on the mat.
Everyone has to start somewhere, and the right room makes that first step easier. No egos, no pressure, just good people trying to get better together.
That’s what Coach @neilesis and Coach @stevenwinhtut_ are building at Zyon. Strong Jiu Jitsu, real guidance, and a place where anyone can walk in and feel like they belong.

You’re making these takedowns way more complicated than they gotta be. Everybody wants the flashy stuff, but when it’s time to actually make it work? It’s not there.
This right here is Sumi Gaeshi.
Simple.
Clean.
Gets it done.
You don’t need 15 steps.
You don’t need highlight-reel complexity.
You need leverage, timing, and you gotta mean it.
Lock this in, and you’ll start putting people on their back without running yourself into the ground trying to be fancy.
Train smart. Keep it simple.

Next week I’ll be in Sydney running a spider guard workshop. Nothing fancy, just Jiu Jitsu I’ve spent time on, studied, and tested under pressure. No titles, just something I’ve worked on and made reliable over time.
I focus on the work. Show up, stay consistent, and make sure there’s value in what I teach. No shortcuts, just doing things properly.
I know this won’t make me rich. But being rich isn’t just money. It’s being at peace with what you do.
None of this lasts forever. Life moves on, with or without us. So I choose to spend my time doing something meaningful.
Grateful to do what I enjoy and build something that matters.
