Ilia Malinin has won the
@isufigureskating Figure Skating World Championships 2026 in Prague! With the victory, Malinin claimed his third consecutive world title (2024, 2025 and 2026) and fourth straight podium finish.
Malinin earned the highest men’s short program score at the World Championships in four years, posting a personal-best 111.29 points. He followed with 218.11 in the free skate for a total score of 329.40. The four-time reigning U.S. champion tied the record for the fourth-most world titles by an American man and became the first U.S. man since
@nathanwchen to win three consecutive world crowns.
During the 2026 ISU Figure Skating Awards, Malinin earned honors for Trailblazer on Ice and Best Costume.
Malinin is coached by his parents, Roman Skorniakov and Tatyana Malinina, both former Olympic figure skaters for Uzbekistan, and also works with renowned coach Rafael Arutyunyan (

@greatparkice . Arutyunyan, a 2026 U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame inductee, is a four-time PSA and U.S. Figure Skating Coach of the Year and was named U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Coach of the Year in 2016.
World champion ice dancer and acclaimed choreographer
@shae_lynnbourne , who serves as Malinin’s choreographer, collaborated with him on both his short and free skate programs while he trained at Great Park Ice and FivePoint Arena. Bourne-Turok, alongside her husband, Bohdan Turok, also produced the custom music track “A Voice” for Malinin’s free skate, which features a spoken-word voiceover by Malinin. The performance reflects on his 14-year skating journey, perseverance and personal growth.
