The Janksters had a spectacular weekend at the 2026 Contra Costra District Event! They ranked 10th overall in the competition and were the first pick of the 4th seeded alliance along with @yvhs_project212 and @hydrarobotics2288 . Most importantly however, for the first time, the team took home the FIRST Impact Award, the most prestigious award in FRC, qualifying them for the Northern California District Championship! This award was the result of months of tireless work, including writing essays, presenting at the competition, creating a video, finding documentation, and years of outreach work in their community. This has been a season to go down in history for The Janksters and they are excited to continue competing at District Championships next week! #bowsnbots #team1967 #frc

The Janksters dug up an incredible weekend at Silicon Valley District Event! Elsa, the teamâs 2026 robot, competed for the very first time and can shoot in the hub, climb L1, hold about 40 game pieces, go under the trench and ride over the bump. The team also presented for the prestigious Impact Award. By the end of the competition, the team went home with the Team Spirit Award, and one Jankster, Clarina â27, won the District Championship FIRST Leadership Semi-Finalist Award. Although they did not make it to the playoff games, students learned how to persevere under pressure. Their drive coach, Teagan â26, reflected, âThis competition taught me that match strategy isnât set in stone and often has to change mid-match depending on the robotâs condition. Even when things didnât go exactly as planned, our team kept adapting and learning.â Learning from this experience, The Janksters are excited to continue improving before their next competition, the Contra Costa District Event. #bowsnbots #team1967 #frc #svde
After a season filled with groundbreaking accomplishments, including their very first Impact Award, The Janksters celebrated the close of their 21st season at Appreciation Night. The event gave everyone a chance to reflect on all they accomplished together this year, from long build nights to the friendships formed along the way. Members, mentors, parents, and seniors were recognized throughout the night with presentations, gifts, and more. The seniors closed out their time with the Janksters as they move on to the next chapter of their lives, gifting the team an awards shelf to display in the mechanical lab. The night also included a special thank you to Coach Aidan for the last five years of leadership and energy he brought to Team 1967 as he says goodbye for the upcoming season. He will be greatly missed by the entire team next school year. Hereâs to everyone who helped make this REBUILT season one to remember! #team1967 #frc #bowsnbots
Join NDâs FIRST Robotics team, The Janksters, for a fun showcase during lunch on April 29th at 3rd Street Cafe! Come see their robot, âElsa,â in action as it launches foam game pieces, and then get a chance to try operating it yourself with help from a Jankster. You can also stop by the tables to learn about what the team accomplished this season and pick up some of their signature perler bead bows and buttons. Donât miss it!
From April 9th-12th, The Janksters participated in the California Northern State Championship! The Janksters went into the competition motivated and competed to the best of their abilities, with the team being ranked 90th out of the 296 teams in the California District! Additionally, congratulations to Clarina â27, who was awarded the FIRST Leadership Finalist award for her dedication to teamwork, innovation, and community. This competition was truly remarkable, with the team learning a lot about growth and looking forward to the future. #bowsnbots #team1967 #dcmp

As Womenâs History Month comes to an end, The Janksters salute one last woman of impact: Bessie Coleman, the first African American woman and first Native American person to hold an international pilot's license. She became the first African-American to perform a public flight and used her growing fame to speak out against racial and gender discrimination in aviation. After her passing, supporters founded the Bessie Coleman Aero Club to honor her legacy and help aspiring pilots pursue careers in flight. Bessie Coleman broke barriers in the sky and paved the way for future generations to soar. #womenshistorymonth #womeninSTEM #bowsnbots
In celebration of Womenâs History Month, Notre Dame High School students presented their Womenâs Place Projects, an inspiring art exhibition honoring the strength and contributions of women from centuries ago to the modern day. Each creative table setting was paired with heartfelt toasts recognizing the woman. Inspired by Judy Chicagoâs 'The Dinner Party', every display told a powerful story, connecting art with history. Each "place" represents a different womanâs achievements and contributions, giving her a rightful seat in history. Take a look at the incredible work from some of our talented Janksters! #womeninstem #bowsnbots #womenshistorymonth
This week, The Janksters would like to appreciate Kizzmekia Corbett-Helaire for Womenâs History Month! She is an American viral immunologist who helped create vaccines like the leading vaccine against the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). She is now an assistant professor at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Shutzer Assistant Professor at the Harvard Radcliffe Institute. Kizzmekia Corbett contributed greatly to the rapid pandemic response and has served as a great role model for women of color in STEM fields. #womeninSTEM #womenshistorymonth #bowsnbots
On Saturday, The Janksters hosted a Notre Dame LEAD Workshop, which focuses on empowering 7th grade students through collaboration and group project work to build their leadership skills. They introduced a total of 21 7th graders to the team and the FIRST Robotics Competition program. Students also got a tour of the teamâs workspace and explored each committee, and participated in a hands-on collaborative STEM build challenge, where they created a grabbing device using various materials. They also had the opportunity to drive the team's 2025 competition robot, Lupe! Thank you to all of the LEAD students who attended the workshops! #team1967 #bowsnbots #girlsinstem
