Masterclass Studio King by @international_cosmos_awards 🎥✨ Just completed my second time joining this masterclass, and wow, it was on a whole different level compared to 2023! This time it was so much more hands-on. We dove deep into technical lighting, precise lighting placement, creative shooting techniques, and even directing. Real practical knowledge that you can immediately apply. The biggest surprise for me? We also learned how to properly handle destination pre-wedding shoots from planning to execution. Game changer! Behind The Scenes | Long Pasia Wedding 2023 🎬 One day, @hantu.borneo asked me… “Can you assist me in shooting a wedding in Long Pasia?” The payment wasn’t that high… but without thinking too much, I said YES. The wedding coverage itself was only for 1 day, but the whole journey became a 3 Days 2 Nights experience. We travelled one day before the wedding, and only headed back the day after the event. We started our journey at 3AM from Tuaran. Tuaran → Sipitang (3 hours) Sipitang → Long Pasia (which used to take around 6 hours because of the road conditions) We had to move quickly to cross the river before the rain came. If the rain started and the river flooded, no vehicles could cross anymore. The road was full of mud and rough terrain, and only modified Hilux (4x4) vehicles could survive the journey. But once we arrived at the village… everything felt worth it. We learned a lot about their culture, lifestyle, and peaceful way of living. What surprised me the most was that they already had internet access, but still no proper electricity supply. Electric poles were already installed, but for now they only depend on solar power and generators. Accommodation, unlimited food, and even transportation were all provided. Everything felt calm, fun, simple, and genuine. This was my first time shooting a wedding in the interior of Sabah, and honestly, it became one of the most memorable experiences for me. No sunset? No problem. ✨ That day it was pouring rain. The golden sunset we were hoping for never showed up. This place is already breathtaking when the sky is clear, especially during sunset. But Mother Nature had other plans. So in the last minute, while shooting, I decided to create our own magic. Using whatever lamps and tools I had on hand, I built a fake sunset on the spot. Then came the real work. 5 seconds of raw footage turned into 5 hours of detailed editing in DaVinci Resolve Studio. Color grading, mood, glow, and atmosphere… all crafted to feel real. Now it looks like we got the perfect sunset after all 😌 This is what I love doing — turning limitations into beautiful results. Behind The Scenes: HER CROWN HER PROMISE 🎬✨ CAN SEMPORNA 2025 This was a pure passion project, zero budget, fully funded from our own pockets (including food, fuel, energy, shooting equipment & welfare for the team). We had only 1 week for everything: pre-production, shooting, and post-production. The timeline was extremely tight. The shoot was quite challenging. We had to film all the Unduk Ngadau contestants before the winner was announced, so we moved fast. Thank God, there were only 4 participants. After the winner is crowned, there wouldn’t be another chance to shoot them again. To save time and cost, we also shot extra B-roll and footage in different locations instead of only in Semporna. Despite all the limitations, the whole team worked with full heart and commitment. Everyone gave their best and somehow… we made it happen.
