Ripples of Reflection
.
Glass fascinates me in that it’s translucent until we catch the intricacies of the world around us refracting through the prism of melted sand. The rippling of reflections through reality may go unnoticed to most, but bring me a brevity to the beauty of my surroundings that often see less appreciation, with a twist.

Door to the Skies

I always loved the walk down to this door as a kid, then crossing that threshold of the gap between the airport & the plane. This door always meant a new adventure, new places, new people, and a fresh perspective. This shot feels so simple & basic but evokes memories & emotions of every trip I’ve taken by plane. The joy of the unknown, and a door to the skies.

Winter has a lofi vibe to it, especially in the snow. Time to rest & reflect, leading to the rebirth of Spring. I read this interesting piece recently saying the self doesn’t actually exist as it’s always in flux through the moments we create & experience, the way we choose to be in that fleeting refraction of time & space equally as elusive which leads to the premise that we are not a definable entity based upon long gone snippets of expression, allowing us to be free in this moment of any tether to our past & embrace the zen of life itself. Beautiful.

World Photography Day

I started shooting still photography again over the last year & can’t believe I went so long without a camera in my hands. I feel blessed to have captured all the moments I did in this time & grateful for all the people it’s brought into my life. This art breathes life into me when I’ve lost my light & looking back on the shots I’ve taken this last year makes me grateful for cameras & the people that let me point mine in their direction. Here’s to all the shots we’ve yet to take.

“The Arsenal”

I love capturing musicians in their zone. All the emotion, talent, sheer force of will through expression. Sometimes it’s in those moments with so much life, and sometimes it’s the silence in between. The instruments they use to bring that energy to life also have their own stories, their own place in the journey, and sometimes I get lost in thoughts about all that they have seen along the way. The various hands that have held them & the different ways they’ve been implemented as tools of creation. An arsenal of sound sitting in stillness.
