Weeks posts
being featured in LA Magazine feels surreal. reinnes place began as a quiet idea i wasn’t even sure i’d share. i wanted to honor the story properly, and i was scared no one would care. over the last two weeks, that fear has been replaced with so much gratitude. to see how far this story has reached, and how many people it’s touched, means more than i can put into words. i’m deeply thankful that i get to share reinne with all of you. whether you’ve been here from the very beginning or just found us, thank you. truly. the door is open, always, and i can’t wait to meet you. with everything that’s happened, i want to take a moment to share an interaction i had yesterday on bar that really grounded me and reminded me why this all means so much. we were busy, spirits high, the line long. a guest stepped up to order, then paused and thanked me. it caught me off guard. she shared that she lost her dad this past year and her mom when she was younger. she cried and opened up in a way that was incredibly vulnerable, and told me that seeing what we’re building gave her hope. i paused service. we hugged. we talked. i told her she was so much stronger than she thought, and that i was thankful she trusted me with that moment. minutes earlier, she was a stranger, and suddenly there was this deep, meaningful connection. i gave her two reinne checks to take home so she could write something special to her parents. many of you have asked about the reinne checks. if you ever feel called to write one, please ask me. i’d be more than happy to give you space to slow down with us and write something meaningful, for yourself or for someone you love. that is the reason. not the recognition, not the articles, but the human moments in between. the reminder that none of us are alone. to celebrate everything these past two weeks have brought, we’re gathering tomorrow night for our holiday market from 6–10pm at Open Gallery. we’d love to share this moment with you. thank you for being here 🤍 lastly, thank you to my incredible team. i couldn’t do this without you.

WE DID IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH. $40,000 raised. this is all for your reinne. we can finally open our coffee shop 🤍 i’m so emotional looking at this. overwhelmed in the best way. feeling everything all at once. because of you, reinnes place is no longer just a quiet idea i carried with me. it’s becoming a real place we get to open our doors to. hitting our goal means we can finally make this last push. it means building, refining, and bringing this space to life exactly the way it was always meant to be. rooted in care, warmth, and intention. thank you for believing in this from the very beginning. thank you for showing up, for supporting, and for keeping reinne’s spirit alive in ways i never could have imagined on my own. you’ve given me the gift of continuing her story through something meaningful and shared. i can’t wait to welcome you into this space. to finally share it with all of you. from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

over the last few years, i’ve learned that grief can look like many things. rebuilding, uncertainty, but also community and connection, and that’s exactly why reinne’s place exists. it took so much to get here and the amount of hands, hearts, and support behind this space is honestly remarkable. that brings us to now. this past week, we soft opened our new home on 4th to the public and it’s honestly been surreal finally sharing this space with everyone. the idea of “home” started to mean something very different to me. not just a physical place, but a feeling. a place where reinne’s spirit could continue living on and where people could feel safe to slow down, heal, connect, and simply exist as they are. the amount of love and support we’ve already experienced has meant more to us than we can put into words. but now it’s officially time. reinne’s place is fully opening its doors and we’d love to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. join us this weekend for giveaways, raffles, lion dancers, live vinyl by apply pressure, flowers by little rosie flower truck, got your back bibingkas for one day only, small bites from our families, and a few more surprises throughout the weekend too. it’s truly a full family affair and we honestly can’t wait to share it all with you. grand opening may 16th • 8am–3pm 3902 e 4th st. long beach, ca regular hours resume sunday may 17th • 7am-3pm we hope to see you this weekend love, tommy

we aired on the drew barrymore show!!! i don’t think there’s a version of me from a year ago that would’ve believed this moment was possible. what started as something small, something i was still trying to understand myself, somehow found its way onto a platform like that. i’m deeply grateful to @drewbarrymore , @sunnyanderson , @helloross , @restaurant_depot and the @thedrewbarrymoreshow team, along with everyone behind the scenes, for the way they held our story with so much care and intention. that meant everything. what stayed with me most wasn’t the moment itself, but what came from it. $20,000 was gifted to us, and it really made me reflect on this entire journey. there were so many points where we didn’t know how things were going to work out, where we were stretched thin, where we needed support. and the truth is, we were met with it. again and again. because of that, it didn’t feel right to keep this just for ourselves. reinne’s place exists because people showed up for us, so this felt like an opportunity to do the same for someone else. we’re going to pass a portion of this forward to a few individuals in our community who are building, or dreaming of building, their own coffee cart or pop up. we’ll take you on a small shopping spree to get what you need, and share any knowledge and resources we’ve gained along the way. we’re here for you. this journey has never been about keeping things to ourselves, it’s about creating something that can extend beyond us. and truthfully, i believe this is exactly what reinne would’ve wanted. if you know someone who could benefit from this, or have someone in mind, please send them our way. on another note, we just passed our final health inspection today, with one last inspection left to go. we’re incredibly close now. i know a lot of you have been asking about an opening date, and i promise it’s coming soon. we just want to make sure everything is right before we welcome you in. thank you for being part of this journey! share more soon toodles!

seeing reinne’s place on nbc is something i don’t take lightly. not because it’s tv. but because it means this story. this space. this intention is reaching beyond our four walls and into more hearts than i ever imagined. im thrilled to know that this community is getting the recognition it deserves because it’s so much bigger than me. reinne’s place has always stood for something bigger than coffee. it stands for slowing down in a world that rushes us. for checking in on one another. for holding space for grief, joy, healing, and everything in between. for remembering that small moments, shared with care, can actually change how we feel in this world. this feature isn’t about me. it’s about every single person who has walked up to our bar and trusted us with their time, their story, their morning, their heart. it’s about our team who shows up with so much intention. it’s about a community that continues to choose connection. we are deeply grateful to nbc for seeing that and helping share it. thank you for being here. thank you for believing in what this place stands for. thank you for building this with us. this is reinne’s place. and it’s ours 🤍

being featured on ktla is something i don’t take lightly. to have news media reach out and want to share our story is a blessing in itself. it still feels surreal that we’ve made it this far. but it didn’t happen by accident. it came from showing up seven days a week. long batching days. juggling popups while navigating construction delays. carrying the emotional weight of uncertainty, exhaustion, and hope all at once. having ktla there during our holiday night market, witnessing everyone gathered together the way reinne’s place was always meant to be, was incredibly heartwarming and grounding. moments like that remind me why we keep going. as honored as i am to do this work, i’m just as honored to be able to share it with all of you. reinne’s place was never meant to just be a coffee shop. that’s why it was never called reinne’s coffee. it’s always been about something bigger than reinne and i. it’s about the people. the conversations. the feeling of belonging. thank you for helping grow this into what it is today. and for being part of what it’s becoming.

today was our busiest and most blessed day to date. so many new friendly faces showed up, shared conversations, and spent their morning with us. on top of that, our first run club brought out almost 100 runners who showed up not just to support an amazing cause, but to listen, connect, and hold space for my story. i’m still taking it all in. on top of that, foodbeast shared our story, and so many people took the time to read it, share it, and help carry this project forward. like WHAAT?!? because of that support, we hit 43% funded today. we raised nearly 4k in just two days, and it truly feels like a blessing. every share, every message, every pledge has reminded me that reinnes place is bigger than me. it has always been about community, and seeing people rally around this story in real time has meant more than i can put into words. we still have a ways to go, but this momentum matters so much. thank you to everyone who has supported, shared, showed up, or listened. if you feel called to keep sharing our kickstarter, it truly helps more than you know. one step at a time, together. thank you for being here. love everyone so so much, tommy kickstarter link in bio.

“it’s in these big and tiny corners of my life that i miss her every day.” – grief is love that quote has been sitting with me recently, and today it hit harder than usual. the last few days have been overwhelming in ways i didn’t expect, and i felt called to share more of myself. this video was hard to make, but i made it because this means everything to me. reinne’s place was built for her. but it was also built as a place to hold grief, to honor love, and to keep a promise to move forward even when it hurts. this project carries so much of who she was and who i am still becoming. i also want to share something important. kickstarter is an all or nothing platform. if we don’t reach our full goal, we receive none of the funds. every dollar only matters if we make it all the way there. we are so grateful for how the community has shown up these last few days. it has truly carried us forward. but we still need help. right now we are about 30% funded. 13k out of 40k. if 300 people a day for the next 9 days give $30 each, we hit our goal. that’s how close this is. it might feel like a big ask, but i believe deeply in this. and more than anything, i believe in what can happen when people come together around something that matters. i know times are hard, and i don’t take any of this lightly. if this story resonates with you, if this space feels meaningful, every share, every comment, every interaction helps more than you know. this is me being honest. i need help. thank you for seeing me. thank you for holding this with me. we’ll see you bright and early tomorrow for our first run club with scrubs & strides to raise mental health awareness for healthcare workers. kickstarter link in bio. #kickstarter #wicked #grief #forgood #loss

it has been a wild week. kickstarter featured our story on their homepage and it has reached so many new hearts. our community has grown so much in just a few days, and we have received so many kind messages from people who felt connected to what we are building. we are genuinely blown away. but we still need help. i need help, and i am not ashamed of it. this dream has always been carried by community, and right now i am leaning into that truth more than ever. opening this shop has been the hardest and most meaningful thing i have ever done. we are pushing through inspections, construction delays, and long days at our pop ups, doing everything we can to keep this dream moving. and now more than ever, we need people to stand with us as we try to make this final stretch possible. if you have already backed us, thank you. if you have shared our story, thank you. and if you are able to support or spread the word today, it would mean everything. sharing the kickstarter link, posting it to your stories, or sending it to someone who might resonate with our mission genuinely helps more than you know. our goal is big, but it is not impossible. if enough people come together, even in small ways, we can open these doors and create the space we have been dreaming about. a space built with intention and warmth. a space that honors reinne and welcomes everyone who walks in. we have so much planned for this month and the future. we cannot wait to share more soon. thank you for believing in us. let’s keep going, together. this is all for you reinne. kickstarter link in bio.

we launched our kickstarter yesterday with nothing but hope, and in less than a day the support has been overwhelming. we are so thankful for this community that continues to show up for us in ways we never expect but always feel deeply. putting yourself out there like this is nerve racking. asking for help. trusting that people believe in what you are trying to build. but every pledge, every share, every message has reminded us that we are not doing this alone. whether you have contributed, shared the link, or simply sent a few kind words, it all means more than you know. here are a few of our favorite photos from this journey so far. thank you for being here. thank you for believing in us. thank you for helping us take the next step. find the link in our bio to read our story! 29 days to go <3 xoxo, tommy

needs your help! we have something to share. for everyone who missed fleeting, this is for you. so many of you told me you wished you could have been there, and i know this isn’t the same, but i wanted to bring a piece of that night to you. this post highlights the major works that were featured alongside the short film. people are still thanking me for the experience and for my vulnerability, and i never really know how to respond to that. i didn’t create fleeting to be praised. i created it because sharing my story has always been the heart of this journey. yes, i am building a coffee shop, but it has always been about something deeper. something human. something that lets people feel understood, seen, and connected. what moved me most that night were the conversations about wanting to help bring this vision to life. a few of my regulars and day one supporters asked how they could be part of this. the idea of crowdfunding had crossed my mind before, but i never wanted to ask for help. it’s something i’ve always struggled with. but hearing it from them made me pause and really think. i thought about how many hands this idea has already passed through and how much care has gone into it from the community we’ve built so far. it made me realize how much bigger this is than me. so here i am, finally allowing myself to ask for help in making reinne’s place real. from the beginning, we bootstrapped everything. we’ve faced hurdle after hurdle, and opening a business has shown me just how hard this truly is. costs rise, delays happen, and nothing about this process is simple. so the kickstarter comes from a place of honesty and hope. not desperation. this is an opportunity for anyone who believes in this vision to help us make the final push. your support has already meant the world, but if you’d like to be part of building this with me, the link will be in our bio. this is our shop. our place to gather. and i can’t wait to be behind bar, sharing it all with you. again thank you for everything <3 love, tommy
