Yesterday, I was asked by Stonegate Group to be a part of their team for the first round judging process of the Publican Awards, where they are shortlisted for 'Best Community Pubs' for their LGBTQI venues.
I love working with these Pubs and Bars and sharing the Polari story with the Judge was a real privilege. The efforts the Teams went to, to highlight our work together was absolutely brilliant.
Thank you Liam and Sam for inviting us to be a part of the process. Claire and Stonewall Housing shared the impact of this work and how they're supporting more people than ever, largely due to the visibility this partnership brings.

Thanksgiving at @ffionasnotes is an institution. The build-up is manic, the day turns tables four times and over 100 takeaways are served too!
Seeing it in action made me really appreciate hospitality and the hard work that goes into making an event so special.

My consultancy turned 4 yesterday and to celebrate I had the pleasure of taking guests from Portobello Brewing Company to Hampton Court to see Chaka Khan and enjoy the sites (and a few ciders too).
I really enjoy running my own consultancy and my business has been built on recommendation, which is even better. Not only do I work with some BRILLIANT Bars, Pubs and Restaurants, but can now include a Royal Floral Designer, a Private Medical Practice and a group of Luxury Hotels in my portfolio. They aren't clients. They are people who have a genuine passion to work hard, share the highs and lows and set out on a path to make things right- which I love too.
I owe much to my two first MDs Steve Cox and Richard Stringer, who both taught me so much and of course to Stonewall Housing who I absolutely LOVE supporting.
Now just need to see if I can keep this going until retirement!

Proud Dad moment this weekend as we opened our POLARI Bar on Canal Street, working to raise funds for the gorgeous and hard-working Stonewall Housing . The partnership we have with Stonegate Group for this is amazing and these beers directly support LGBTQI people at risk of homelessness for so many reasons. We get everything closer to £100,000 in funding...how exciting is that!
Polari is a small part of my work as a consultant, but I'm so proud of this, it was amazing to see at Manchester Pride and we will back next year too ❤️💪🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
A busy few months and the Portobello Training Academy is now up and running! It took us six months, but we are now introducing training for over 600 people, with a focus upon really understanding what makes The Portobello venues work so well. Everyone in the company will benefit from a plan that encourages them to understand why we do, what we do.
It's been an absolute privilege to create this training plan and work with some brilliant people at @portobellopubco and @wearetheaddress we are already into the next stages of planning for more!
