It’s rare to find people who feel more like family than friends, but that’s what the Toledos have been to us. And that’s what makes the goodbye so hard ❤️‍🩹 I have been beyond blessed and impacted by your love for my children @surfamily @ricardinhotoledo . One of the greatest ways to love a mom is to love her kids, and you have done that (above and beyond!) The sacrifice, love, and bond you’ve built feels like one of God’s greatest gifts to me as we’ve navigated the challenges of raising four boys. You will always be Kellen’s Brazilian grandparents, no matter the distance!!! Lots of FaceTimes, phone calls and trips to Brazil to come ✈️ We love you SO MUCH and bless you to go in God’s favor and abundance as you step into this next adventure. I know He has amazing plans in store, and we’re cheering you on from San Clemente ❤️

Our golden boy is SIX! (I had to include some throwbacks since the last five years of his life were spent in foster care and I couldn’t show his perfect little face) We are so proud of you Zeke! You are a bright light in this world!!!! You have overcome more in your six years than many do an a lifetime. You are an unstoppable force, a magnetic joy bomb, and a tender soul. Thank you for trusting me as your mom. I promise to give you my very best and remind you every day that you are loved and treasured more than you could ever imagine. This year will be your best yet buddy 🫶🏼 Still pinching myself that you’re ours forever.

For anyone grieving this Christmas: I see you, and so does Jesus. I know what it feels like to be so heartbroken you can’t even bring yourself to put up decorations. Many of you remember four years ago when we had to say goodbye to our foster son Zeke after raising him for a year and half. Christmas came right after that goodbye and it felt like the wind got knocked out of us and our world got turned upside down. Our only option was to offer our tears as worship to the Lord…Not our picture perfect, have it all together selves, but our ugly cry on the bathroom floor selves. God met us in our brokenness, in our confusion, and in our suffering. He reminded us that He wasn’t distant from our pain, but He too knew the sting of releasing a son that He so dearly loved. I look back on that time in our lives and can honestly say the only way we survived that heartache is because God himself carried us. Now here we are, four years after that goodbye. And God has miraculously brought Zeke back into our family. This time, forever. This video is Him worshiping at his first Zion Kids Christmas performance…As our ADOPTED son! If you’re in the middle of the storm, just know that God is not removed from your pain. He is close to the broken hearted, and He will surely get you to the other side. If He did it for me, He can do it for you ❣️
