This is definitely not to shame or exile shame itself - but hopefully to expand awareness on ways it hides in plain sight and masks as something “good”, especially if you’re unsure of why you’re struggling to heal.
Shame disguised as hope and fear disguised as wisdom may “work” for a while but it will never bear sustainable fruit worth having.

There are so many reasons I debated posting this
- what does this say about future clients booking me now that so many booking decisions are made on Instagram?
- does it sound like another model complaining about their very unrelatable life - is it tone deaf?
- should I self-edit my words it to sound less upset?
Honestly all valid questions — that also completely defeat the point and keep models - especially women - silent to how regular of an occurrence this is. We know what we are signing up for in this job - hair, makeup, being poked and prodded at comes with the territory and that is still not an excuse to misuse perceived authority, treat models like puppets or end up absolutely appalled when we end up being human beings with a voice — especially when accountability becomes a debate rather than the most basic standard.
On a personal note, if people I work with treat integrity of their artistry to this level of an afterthought and not considered as a forethought — I’d rather forfeit the booking. The only people you’ll ever repel by using your voice and expecting integrity as the standard are those who will jeopardize your business or are simply not for you. To me, that will always take priority.
