What a surreal mission.
I’m eternally grateful to @lordbooth & @russ_wildlife for welcoming me to Mababe and showing me their hidden gem of a camp.
A dirty, raw, scary, vibrant, vicious slice of what I can only call Eden. Detached from so many earthly delights and human interference, the land breathes from something deeper.
It’s hard to call it a vacation but any opportunity to explore more of this wild world is a holiday for me.
At times it felt like storm chasing.
Or searching for the perfect wave. The action we witnessed in the bush provides an unequivocal high. It’s primal and real.
The comfortable path is attractive and safe but there exists a profound peace in discomfort. One I’ve grown more and more addicted to.
I went to the bush to discard some old habits and tired tendencies (and meet some SW fans). And yet, nature teaches more than we can imagine. I learned to see with my ears. Attuned to the essential, the rest falls away with ease.
Every experience is another opportunity for expansion - I just didn’t expect so much of it. Our power as people is to meet the demands of whatever is asked of us.
I’m returning home with clear intention and a renewed spirit of adventure thanks to JLB & Russ.
It can be easy to count on the fact that someday we’ll do the things we want when we have more time or energy or means or courage or or or, but in reality none of those things will ever be *right*.
It’s part of the absurd beauty of life.
Someday is today.
I realized if I don’t jump at these opportunities, run off the cliff and figure it out on the way down, it just might not happen. Make the art. Go on the date. Take the trip. Fortune favors the bold.

The complete lack of photos taken is offset by the ample amount of gorgeous memories made. Studio 8H was our creative haven where @jasonreitman generously invited this group of wildly talented artists to transport back to 1975. We hope you enjoy the film and feel the joy we experienced making it.
