Painted inside the old RC Cola Plant for @iiipoints the same wall where I did my first mural in 2009 for Primary Flight. Brought back the flamingo girl â sixteen years later, same space. A little older, a little wiser, ( a lot more sore đ¤ ) and forever grateful for this corner that started it all. Couldnât help but think about her existing under all those layers of paint and time. Bringing the crew along this time and having luna assist? the sweetest full circle moment ever⨠đ. Thank you @jpsawi , @miamiartsociety for having me! Thank you to all who helped make it happen. That was fun!
đŻđ˛ Couldnât have asked for a better project to end my year-long mural hiatus! Truly honored to have been invited to paint in the mystical mountains of Jamaicaâinside this beautiful chapel on top of Mount Zion and directly across from where Bob Marley and his mother lay to rest. Angels and Madonna with child inspired by the Ethiopian art that adorn Momma Marleyâs mausoleum.
Magical and unreal. Bobâs spirit was felt all throughout. I canât wait to bring Luna here one day since sheâs already an avid Bob Marley fan. đŚ
Thank you to Kito ( Bobâs cousin ) for taking good care of us. To Richard Booker and Joe Risolia for bringing me out here! To @thelondonpolice for the connect and to @lagrasa for the assist! One Love. #dishesaredonemon #bless
Proud to see Luna and I make an appearance in this bad-ass, powerful Secret ad. Ya shouldnât have to sweat your identity đđ¤ Director: @turbotwigs
â I make art in the gaps, in the margins, in the breath between needs. Motherhood didnât steal my voice, it taught me to sing with less air â - @gracegulley My relationship with creativity has changed. Finding, loosing finding, loosing - ideas, inspiration and energy. In these moments where uninterrupted studio time is rare, Iâm trying to accept and let go. I donât have that time to revisit pieces and render till completed. I have pieces I started back in 2020 unfinished. This is mental regulation time. I want to just create, make marks, messes and move on. Also, all this crispy, over saturated AI art is making me nauseous - I want to show as much humanity as possible đŚ anyways, hello.
â The Nymphs â Immaculate vibes painting alongside @squid.licker for @bermudawalls . Our piece was inspired by the painting â Hylas and the Nymphs â by John Waterhouse, only with an Afro-Caribbean twist. Much fun was had painting alongside the beast that is squid, adding a bunch of symbolism and detail to the wall as we jammed to our oldies with the turtles and frogs. Driving on the left side of the road was very chill, lol. As always, so great catching up with old friends and making new ones đŚBermuda and its people are beautiful, we love you. Big hugs to everyone involved ! â¤ď¸
âThe Nymphsâ @squid.licker x @tatunga for @bermudawalls đ originally we wanted to paint our own version of Waterhouseâs âHylas and the Nymphsâ (1896) but given wall space, ended cutting it down to two characters â¤ď¸ both inspired by Afro-Caribbean water deities whose mirrors are often used to represent âReflection of Creation.â đŞThe mirror symbolizes these deitiesâ roles as the "Mother of All Living Things," reflecting the entire world and the souls of their children. Not gonna lie we had all the fun painting this and singing âoldiesâ (smdh) and often that is just as much priority as the final result 𼰠thank you to everyone in Bermuda we love you !
Rainy Sunday mornings in Wynwood. Super cool hosting a class teaching the kiddos about SQUIGGLE GRIDS ! Probably one of my most frequently asked questions - how do you scale the image so large? Da heck are those squiggly marks? Wow cool, chicken scratch mural. I printed out some drawings and grids to help kids understand the process and sharpen their observation skills, problem solve, use their brains. đŤśđ˝Thank you for having me @pathtohiphop@museumofgraffiti@miamidadearts thank you to the families that showed up đŤśđ˝
