🌠 Yesterday with @tatug we celebrated his artist book 𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦, at the National Library. ⋆˙⟡ It was awarded as one of the Most Beautiful Book 2025 in the Art and Photography category. So honoured!

Découvrez «I on the Road», un ouvrage singulier et désormais introuvable, dans lequel Tatu Gustafsson, photographe finlandais, utilise les caméras météo automatiques réparties à travers la Finlande pour créer une série d’autoportraits sans contrôle direct du déclencheur.

Depuis 2012, il parcourt le pays, vivant plusieurs semaines dans sa voiture, pour apparaître devant ces dispositifs publics qui capturent des images toutes les douze minutes.

Cette méthode questionne la notion d’auteur en confiant la prise de vue à une machine tandis que son corps devient un élément imprévu du paysage surveillé.
.
Les portraits évoquent la solitude et une présence fantomatique, reflet de notre rapport à l’image et à la surveillance.

umbrella stone plate is a book I made together with best people last year. The book features photographs from four exhibitions I created between 2019 and 2022, for which I borrowed objects from different people and institutions.
The book continues the idea of borrowing in another form: it is not for sale, but I am happy to donate copies to public libraries.
It would be wonderful if you could either suggest libraries to which I could send the book, or even better, invite libraries to contact me directly about receiving a copy. The book is free of charge.

🌫️ Tatu Gustafsson és un artista finlandès que treballa amb càmeres meteorològiques, objectes prestats i conceptes, explorant les tecnologies, els supòsits comuns i les relacions de poder.
📸 A La Nuu presenta la sèrie Weather Camera Self-portraits, un projecte en què recorre Finlàndia fent-se autoretrats amb càmeres de trànsit i meteorològiques que registren imatges cada 12 minuts. Vivint al cotxe i convertint-se en una presència espectral dins del paisatge, l’artista explora noves maneres d’entendre l’autoria i la imatge fotogràfica.
👁️ El resultat són imatges inquietants que evoquen solitud i fragilitat, alhora que qüestionen el paper de la tecnologia en la representació i la construcció de la nostra memòria visual.
