WHEN WORDS FALL SILENT…, 2026, a new limited edition art work by Zineb Sedira, launched to coincide with the artist’s Duveen commission at Tate Britain, available exclusively at Tate Shops. The 1960s and early 1970s witnessed a revolution in the world order. A wave of African nations achieved independence from European colonial rule. Algeria broke away from France in 1962 and soon became a hub for liberation movements from around the world. Activist filmmakers from Africa, Asia and South and Central America joined the struggle, using cinema to broadcast their political ideas. During Hollywood’s Golden Age, cinema signs came to symbolise the glamour and mass entertainment of the screen. Sedira’s cinema sign proclaims an alternative vision in English and Arabic: WHEN WORDS FALL SILENT, CINEMA SPEAKS… In this work, she reminds us that film holds the power to spark debate and change our view of the world.

Tate UT returns to UNIQLO stores and Tate Shops, featuring a fresh selection of designs drawn from Tate’s collection. Babel (2001), featured here by Cildo Meireles is a large-scale sculptural installation that takes the form of a circular tower made from hundreds of second-hand analogue radios that the artist has stacked in layers. The radios are tuned to a multitude of different stations and are adjusted to the minimum volume at which they are audible. Together, it creates a cacophony of low, continuous sound, resulting in inaccessible information, voices or music. Curated by Tate: From the Collection, created in partnership with UNIQLO, feature modern and international artworks from our extensive collection, bringing art closer to everyday life. Explore the latest styles in store and online.

Celebrate Lubaina Himid’s British Pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia with ‘Jelly Mould Pavilions for London’ - a limited edition art work first created for Tate Shops in 2021. Cast from an original Victorian jelly mould, the work is a reminder of the African diaspora’s link to the sugar industry and slavery. She began the series in 2009 to raise questions about the purpose of monuments and whether there would ever be a city daring enough to commemorate the contribution made by people of the African diaspora to its history, culture and wealth. Available to purchase online, each work is accompanied by a certificate signed and numbered by the artist.

Tate UT returns to UNIQLO stores and Tate Shops, featuring a fresh selection of designs drawn from Tate’s collection. Louise Bourgeois began creating her iconic spider sculptures in the 1990s. ‘Maman’, featured on this T-shirt and meaning “mother,” is one of her largest works. The artist said spiders reminded her of her mother: ‘Like a spider, my mother was a weaver. My family was in the business of tapestry restoration, and my mother was in charge of the workshop. Like spiders, my mother was very clever … spiders are helpful and protective, just like my mother.’ Curated by Tate: From the Collection, created in partnership with UNIQLO, feature modern and international artworks from our extensive collection, bringing art closer to everyday life.
