Fresh Off The Plate: I interviewed @tata_bless in East York back in 2020 during the peak of the pandemic. But it was 2023 that was their biggest struggle when a water main break flooded and shut down their entire business.
They’ve finally found a new home on the Danforth. And hands down it’s my favourite hot sauce

Dear Tata Nation,
With a heavy heart we are saddened to share that we must leave 219 Rexleigh drive.
We have been closed for one year to the date. Since June 2 2023, the little communication we had consisted of: being told that renovations are going to start soon, contractors are coordinating with insurance, city permits are delayed and so on.
Recently through the rumour mill we heard the owners were selling the building. It was later confirmed but we received assurance that we didn’t need to worry, we should be good.
On May 15th 2024, the sale was final and the next day construction was started by the new owners. On May 22nd we received notice that we had to leave the premises by June 1st for construction of the space—9 days notice.
With that said we will say goodbye to our first Tata shop on Rexleigh for the past 8 years and start to look forward to where ever our new home will be. We would love to stay in the neighbourhood where we were embraced by this amazing community but it is not guaranteed.
So please stay tuned for upcoming news. In the meantime always reach out for all your hot sauce needs. We are still making small batches of our products. And please remember, “Tata! Brings Flava to your Table!” Bless.

We had the pleasure of hosting our friend and former East York neighbour Odaine, along with his mama, for a class this past weekend. For those of you who don’t know, Odaine and mama are famous for their AMAZING hot sauces and jerk chicken @tata_bless . Sadly, due to serious water damage incurred from city construction, their restaurant has been shut down for nearly a year, with no updates from the city on when repairs can be made, and their business can be reopened.
If you believe and support small local businesses, give @tata_bless a follow and reach out to Odaine to buy some of his incredible hot sauces.
