Let me share with you something I noticed on my trips to different countries and sitting in rooms with different kinds of people.
In many places, people wake up and asks themselves; what do I want today? What kind of life am I building. Does this feel like me?
When I came back home, I observed something different. Here, that question barely gets asked. Because by the time you are old enough to think about it, the answer has already been given to you.
By your family, your pastor
By society, By that uncle who means well , but has never once discovered himself.
And you followed it. Because everyone around you was following it too. The result; a generation of hardworking, busy, exhausted people who have quietly never asked the one question that can change everything. Whose life am I actually living?
I am not here to judge, because I too have lived this life too. But I found a way out that is working for me and this page exists to show you that.
Discover who you are. Design the life. Then go live it. That is the whole message.

CULTURE STRIP
Think about this for a moment;
When was the last time you checked into a hotel, walked into a lounge or sit in a leisure space here in Nigeria that actually made you feel at home? Not just comfortable, but truly at home?
Most of us can’t remember, apart from the bush bars and the local restaurants that feel like a jungle and that’s the problem. Why won’t we be perceived as wild, when that’s all we identify with. Who says African designs mean shields, spares and hide of a leopard or hyena.
We’ve spent years building and creating spaces that are borrowed, copied from somewhere abroad, stripped of everything that makes us who we are, while we identify only with the wild.
The décor says nothing about our history or traditions. The service feels rehearsed. Nothing in the room tells you that you are in Nigeria. We are designing spaces to impress strangers and nothing to identify with or make us feel welcome.
Here’s what I can tell you from being around. The best experience is never about how expensive it looks, It’s always been about how authentic it is and how it makes you feel. Familiar colours, the stories you recognise. Warmth that doesn’t need to be trained into anyone.
Our culture has always been the true luxury in its authentic self. We just stopped using and exploring it.
If we keep trying to beat foreign cultures at their own culture, would we ever win the game? If we travel abroad to enjoy different cultures and their hospitality, what will they experience or enjoy when they travel this way. How can we then retain our culture and our hospitality
Next time you walk into a space, think for a second; does this place feel like us?
If the answer is no then that’s the gap. And that gap is exactly what this conversation is about. Follow along. There’s more

FOREWARNING !!!
𝗥EPETITION 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 as 𝗔TTRACTIVE as 𝗥ESULTs are..
But they are the reason results exist.
Think about the best event experiences you have witnessed. The kind that makes you drop your jaw, wondering if it is even possible. Everything feels just right, well thought out and timely like it was planned to military precision.
Yes it was planned with almost military styled precision. Truth is, that feeling did not happen by accident. Someone and their team worked hard on that space in ways you will never see.
They revised it, got it wrong, started all over and kept going until what they saw as a vision finally came to life.
That is what mastery is. Meet my friend and madam; @izobe_spiff of @tresbienevents ; who has spent over 20 years planing and coordinating exceptional events all over Nigeria and the UK till she built mastery.
It is not just a gift, It is not just talent
It is the quiet, unsexy, unglamorous act of doing same thing over and over until you cannot get it wrong. I know this as I have been a part of this journey.
You were created with a purpose.
There is a version of you that is meant to be discovered, designed and lived out fully.
But you only get there by doing the work when nobody is watching.
Stay in the practice. The results are on the way.
Whatever you are currently practising that nobody is clapping for yet. Just know I am rooting for you.

Africa’s Potential is Misunderstood:
I was sitting with a group of entrepreneurs in a cafe, we were talking about solving local problems with global solutions.
Yakubu talks extensively about a Silicon Valley startup he admires. Then I asked him “What if we designed solutions that are ours? One that understands the unique needs of an African community?”
It is exactly what I see in the story of M-Pesa; A mobile payment platform, designed locally for local problems. They discovered the gaps in the local financial system, then designed a solution that fit perfectly with the culture and needs of the people in mind.
When we carry out customer experience designs or other Hospitality related designs, we learned that the best products and services come from deeply understanding the customer’s needs. It’s not enough to assume or create from a distance. You have to interview, investigate and possibly interrogate further and only then design.
It is important to build something that connects with the people it’s meant to serve.
What would happen if we all embraced the process of true customer experience design and started by understanding the people first?

Mastery Outlasts Trends | The Hidden Power of Experience
Trends fade.
Tools get outdated.
But experience? It compounds, It grows and it never disappears.
In the beginning, I wanted to follow every trend.
The newest app, the latest tool, it was all so tempting.
But I decided to take a different route: mastering the basics.
It wasn’t easy.
There were days when I felt like everyone else was ahead of me. But I stayed focused.
While others chased after the next big thing, I invested in learning and that’s what made all the difference.
Years later, I’m still here – trusted, relevant, and respected.
Experience unlike trends, doesn’t expire.
What’s your story? We all go through phases where it feels like we’re falling behind
but it’s the ones who invest in their craft who last.
What’s one skill you’ve mastered that has brought you success? #mastery #experienceovertrends #investinyourself #staythecourse #businessgrowth

Not every win is business. Not every growth season is strategy.
Some growth happens in rooms filled with music.
Last night at the Amplified Barefoot Concert Her Festival Edition, I felt something different.
When the song Dide was performed, I was not thinking about work, I was thinking about journey, About seasons survived, About progress that no one sees.
That is what good music does. It meets you where you are.
Respect to Teams Group for hosting and @altemanagement for delivering a beautiful experience. The energy, The production, The storytelling. Everything was intentional.
Abuja is evolving, The creative scene is rising. If you are not paying attention, you are missing culture being built in real time.
Support local creatives. Show up. Feel something again.
Abuja truly has beautiful events.

There’s this Lady I know who told me “ I want peace”
This meant:
She wanted a healthy relationship. She wanted financial stability. She wanted self respect.
But she kept answering calls from people who drained her. She kept lending money she could not afford to lose. She kept saying it is okay when it was not.
And each compromise taught the world how to treat her.
One day, something shifted.
She stopped explaining her boundaries. She stopped accepting emotional chaos. She stopped apologizing for saying no.
Nothing dramatic happened overnight.
But slowly her energy improved. Her circle changed. Her confidence grew. Her finances stabilized.
Becoming is not emotional. It is behavioral.
Life reflects tolerated standards.
Raise the standard for How people speak to you How you spend your time How you manage money How you honor commitments How you protect your peace
The world adjusts when you do.

2011.
Garden City Literary Festival.
I met Rev. Jesse Jackson and my mindset changed.
One question from his team stretched my thinking and sparked my hunger for bigger rooms and global exposure.
Bold, Gentle and Purpose-driven.
Some meetings last minutes. But they move you for years.
May he rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to speak.

If a man hits a tin. Some people hear chaos, others hear Noise. One person hears music.
The difference is; Identity.
Without clarity, everything feels random. when you find yourself, everything becomes data.
Stop chasing inspiration outside, without first finding yourself inside. Start by researching yourself.
What excites you. What frustrates you. What patterns repeat in your life.
That is not noise. That is direction.

Rooms like this refine you.
Engaging with the MDs of Landmark Group Nigeria and Chicken Republic Nigeria at an industry event last year.
One conversation in a circle. Another in a corner.
Different settings, Same focus, Scale, Structure and Experience.
As a hospitality and design professional, I pay attention to how brands create environments that move people.
Space is strategy. Design is influence. Hospitality is engineered.
Position yourself where growth is discussed.
Pause. Silence. No action.
“I don’t know yet.”
This costs trust when it sounds like confusion.
But this is how you should say it without losing credibility:
First, name what’s unclear. Second, set when the decision will be made. Third, give a temporary direction.
That’s not indecision. That’s control.
People lose trust when leaders guess. They keep trust when leaders manage uncertainty properly.
