Part of what gave
@timothyakers the idea for TASS was when he put together bands for multiple all-star shows (here he is with
@official.raycharles at one of these shows). He wanted to put together a band that could play the music, that was always played while on breaks at sessions, not just for one show - but whenever they wanted! What started as just a way for my dad to play fun music with his friends, grew into a vision that became part of our family. We would sit around on sundays, after church, and talk about the future of TASS, what it would look like a year from now, 15 years from now! Dad and I would talk branding, marketing, “grand vision”….but more often than that, him and
@chaseakers would talk about the music, the possibilities….for over a decade, TASS has been a major part of our family. Not long after dad passed, I had many of his friends tell me, “you know, Tim told me that he was building something with this for his children and his children’s children…” And while keeping TASS going was always a no-brainer, hearing these words (that I already knew) lit a fire in me that keeps me going when the road gets a little rough. My only regret is that we didn’t have this kind of determined focus earlier. Life has a way of, well, getting in the way! So, in honor of Tim, don’t let life get in the way…..what dreams do you have? What vision has God given you? What are you currently working on that you just *know* could be something bigger!?! Find a way to get one step closer to it. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it, and Dad will be cheering you on from the other side of the veil ♥️
