no torch no problem: the birth of the e-nail ⚡️ 🔥: by 2012, the dab scene was deep in the titanium era. domeless nails & propane torches ruled, but consistency didn’t. each dab was a gamble—too hot, too cold, or flat-out scorched. the community wanted stability, not guesswork. that’s when @highlyeducatedti started asking a new question: what if the nail stayed hot on its own? ⚙️: through late 2012 & early 2013, @taskrok , founder of @highlyeducatedti & machinist dave jensen, wired pid controllers & custom coils inside his titanium workspace. photos from jan 2013 show panels laid out, switches glowing red & green, & rows of wired controllers tagged #highlyeducated. 3 sleepless nights later, the 1st batch of black metal boxes was born. each one read: highly educated. 🚀: las vegas, feb 2013—american glass expo. @taskrok rolled out the finished units & lit up the floor. caption said it all: “i guess there’s a line for e-nails.” a hallway of dabbers lined up to hit the world’s 1st torchless setup. within hours, “e-nail” wasn’t just a prototype name, it was a movement. 🔌: the e-nail fused industrial heat control & titanium precision. it kept temps locked at 600°f, turned low-temp dabs into science, & made shop demos safe. it bridged diy extraction culture & modern dab tech. 💡: months later, a new brand appeared. d-nail sounding close enough to cause confusion. forums mixed timelines, but the record’s clear: the 1st electric dab nail, the name e-nail, & the debut at age 2013 all trace directly to @highlyeducatedti . 🧠: w/ the e-nail, dabbing became repeatable, measurable, & safer. it sparked an arms race for temp control. sic inserts, quartz coils, digital displays—all chasing highly educated’s blueprint. 🏁: every coil-driven rig, every modern controller box, & every “set-&-forget” dab session owes its lineage to that vegas drop. the e-nail didn’t just kill the torch—it rewired the ritual. 5 years later, @puffco followed that path w/ the peak (2018), shrinking the same torchless tech into a handheld all-in-one. from desk coils to pocket rigs, the blueprint still leads back to @taskrok , machinist dave jensen & the @highlyeducatedti e-nail. — @nuggnotes 🪴

Edit: Giveaway winner randomly selected as @tallerthanaveragevaporist . Message us for redemption information. OG POST: The Control Tower MAX collab with @blackmarketglass drops at 4:20 est today, but you can enter to win one now by liking this post. One winner selected on Monday. The Control Tower MAX features an internal surface modification. The rifling of the inner diameter changes the experience in the following ways: - Allows liquid within the barrel to more efficiently wet the surface - Helps fight wall pooling, creating a more even distribution - Creates a friction that allows the pillar to more easily climb; giving you more precise control over the pillars location - Produces vapor at lower temperatures than models without it. Experience the magic of the Control Tower MAX.

Back in Nov I had this idea for a @gordoscientific cap, and I'm happy to see he made it a reality. The GTR Cap is a dual channel carb cap that allows you to change functions with your finger tips. Gordo is both the inspiration and the manufacturer and I feel honored to release it with him. For more details on how the cap works check out the @highlyeducatedti or @gordoscientific page. Limited release scheduled for tomorrow at 12pm MST on both of our websites. And there might be a giveaway going on somewhere 🤔 #highlyeducated #gordoscientific #gtrcap

To expand on my previous post about nucleation sites: here we have an opaque bottom gavel and a clear replica, both were heated for 40 seconds and allowed to cool for 80 seconds. After which 1 teaspoon of purified water is placed into both. Watch the difference at 25% speed. #highlyeducated

Did you know that nucleation sites assist in the physical separation of solid, liquid, and gas? The more you know 🌠 #highlyeducated

There still seems to be some confusion around what the opaque quartz is. It's not sand blasted, it's not colored, and it's not siliquartz. This magnified section of one of our old v1 dishes shows you precisely what it is. When held up to the light you'll see that it's a multitude of air bubbles. These bubbles diffract light, giving the material it's opacity. These bubbles also slightly effect the materials thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, and coefficient of expansion. This has an astounding effect on vaporization as the higher thermal diffusivity allows the heat energy to rise freely inside the material to the surface during your hit. In trial tests the opaque didn't hold heat longer than clear replicas, but it did boil the oil placed inside more efficiently. #highlyeducated

New products! With all the quartz hype going on I'm putting out a new titanium dish. Crazy right? I don't think so. Introducing the TX2 the titanium version of the QX2. Like the QX2, the TX2 has more than twice the volume of an InfiniTi dish and has rounded corners so it can be easily qtipped. Yup, you heard me right, qtip the titanium. Because a clean surface tastes better no matter what material you're using. With the release of the TX2 will also come the X2 carb cap. The X2 cap will be able to cover the outside diameter of not only the titanium TX2, but the quartz QX2 as well. That's right, the QX2 finally has a carb cap. Both are available now for wholesale and retail through but as always, all you have to do is like this post for a chance to be entered in to win both a QX2 and TX2 nail kit as well as the new X2 Cap. I'll select someone randomly in the comments on Monday. Thanks for reading this. #highlyeducated
