This one’s for all of you. 💛
Had such a lovely day wandering the streets of Shimokitazawa. Filled with vintage stores, record stores, cafes and restos. Small winding streets with so much to see and super chill vibes. A definite must, and apparently there’s a weekend flea market that’s super fab ! 💙
Today we took the subway to Ikebukuro where the streets are lined with manga, figurine, anime and card shops. Started off at the 10 floor Animate store and then wandered through the streets popping in and out of arcades and fun pop-up shops. Had the most delicious lunch, and then dinner at a restaurant in a Yokocho which was total EYE candy for me. The colours, signs and vibes were SO cool. I love Tokyo at night. The energy is amazing and the city is so colourful and happy 💙💙
Tokyo so far: eggs sands and snacks from 7-eleven, believe the hype. Donki, we did all 7 floors in 3 hours. Overwhelming, fun, a must do. (We went early to avoid crowds, highly recommend, the mega store is open 24/7). Tower Records reminded me of my NYC days before it closed. Vinyl, cds and tapes are alive and well here. Shibuya crossing is fun, and wandering the side streets is a must. We saw reading lounges where you pay an hourly fee for unlimited access to manga, and other books with all you can drink and or eat. Listening lounges and Pokémon lounges run the same. We went shopping, ate great food and visited a JoJo exhibit and pop up where all of K’s anime / manga dreams came true. Tokyo is epic and next we’re heading to Shimokitazawa for vintage and record shopping and Ikebukuro for manga and anime galore. 💙
