Apartment 18 on a gorgeous tree lined street in the Fenway is where I’ve grown up…
I’ve lived here longer than my parents house, longer than half my life. I’ve seen this neighborhood grow from a little distressed hood with broken down buildings, fast food joints, gas stations, and rehearsal spaces for tons of local rock bands….grow to a bustling neighborhood with a target and over priced rents. Towering apartment buildings have sprouted up all around us. I’ve lived here through 3 Red Sox world series championships, five US presidents, 9/11, Covid and the blizzard season of 2015 in my little home. There is so much I’ve experienced and seen in the 30 years I’ve lived here. In September I’m going to have to vacate. My landlord wants to gut my apartment claiming the wear and tear of age has rendered it uninhabitable. They have offered me other units in the buildings they own in the area, but none suit me and none are in my cherished apartment on this gorgeous tree lined street I’ve called home for three decades. So now I am left to finally confront something I thought I never would. I thought this was going to be my forever home. Now I start to look for something else, hoping to find just the right fit in my neighborhood …something reasonable and something that feels like my forever home. I’ll miss you my beloved top floor apartment #18🥲

It started as a group shot of the ladies. A kid walking by said to @drewkazoo “do you want to get in the picture? I’ll take it”. Drew joined the group shot…
Along came our new friend Rama (second to last slide selfie) and he asked the kid taking the shot if he wanted to get in the picture, not knowing he wasn’t with us. The kid jumped in the shot. It just snowballed from there…and by the end we had kids and adults of all walks of life jumping in the shot and running to join as our crowd got bigger.
