For my birthday I ran around the bar blind firing with flash about 1 foot away from my friends faces and they all still fucked with me.

My favorite pics from the summer.
Lots of good times here, I don’t have much to say that Stevie can’t say better. So here’s my favorite lyrics from “As” by Stevie Wonder (the greatest song of all time).
As around the sun the earth knows she’s revolving
And the rosebuds know to bloom in early may
Just as hate knows love’s the cure
You can rest your mind assure
That I’ll be loving you always
Did you know that true love asks for nothing
Her acceptance is the way we pay
Did you know that life has given love a guarantee
To last through forever and another day
Just as time knew to move on since the beginning
And the seasons know exactly when to change
Just as kindness knows no shame
Know through all your joy and pain
That I’ll be loving you always

Alright, so one day I decided to go on a long walk. I started at the High Line and kept walking downtown until it ended. I started to walk along the West Side Highway, maybe I’d stop at the Little Island and see what that was about. Instead this pier stuck out like the sorest thumb I ever saw. It was December or January, I remember it being very cold. And here on the Hudson River was a beach. It was like a surrealist painting come to life, it felt unnatural and yet here in the photo are real people sitting in beach chairs, with shoes in the sand, like there isn’t a 6 lane highway 50ft from them, as if they could strip into a bathing suit and take a plunge in the Hudson. I couldn’t get over it and I sat there and watched for a while to make sure that people really were sitting there, enjoying it. I thought maybe those people would be happier in a different city, on a different beach.
So yea this is one of my favorite photos that I’ve ever taken. The big black grid framing the skyline is like a giant projector screen, the people sitting are enjoying the show. I think that frame within the frame and symmetry allow the picture to feel and be surreal. I always thought about going back to this spot to take more photos with color film to see if I’d like it more but I never did, it’s probably because I don’t like the beach lol.
Top song of December 2023 is Start Choppin’ by Dinosaur Jr. I saw them last summer, did not disappoint.

In January of 2024 I hopped on a bus to Boston to work as the gaffer on the short film Humanzee. @humanzeemovie was written and directed by @taro.ohallora produced by @heartbrainheart shot by @brettmelican and pd was done by @emilyccanales As you can see it also had some really fucking incredible make up by @beasniper
It was great seeing some old friends and working on a short that these guys had poured their hearts and souls into. I even got to see it in theaters at the ny premiere. Even though I played such a small role, I’m really proud that I got to be a part of it.
Some of the pictures include Ziggy in the make up chair and the crew anxious to start the 1st of 4 days of production. Lots of people say fomapan shoots a stop below box speed. I didn’t know that at the time but the quick shadow fallow and underexposure works for me in these pics.
Every drive to and from set I blasted The Band’s self titled album on repeat. Vibes were high.
You can watch Humanzee here.

I’ve been sitting on too many photos for too long. Hoping to share some more instead of letting them sit.
I remember I had first started to work at B&H when I took these. Big storm came in the night before. I woke up to take the train to work, decided it would be worth the 5 extra minutes to walk to Myrtle-Broadway instead of Flushing for some photos. I love the motion of the trains and the snow. For the shot of the train approaching I was dreaming that I would be able to see the conductor through the window, though I guess I was asking for too much with the bright reflections from the snow, but at least that J sure looks good.
The song is my most listened to song of that month according to apple music.

Last night, Jrue Holiday was traded from the Boston Celtics, a couple days ago the 2025 finals concluded, and a little over a year ago I was in Boston for the 2024 Celtics championship parade.
I took the bus up from New York the day before with the plan of taking a ton of photos. The morning of the parade I was joined by Andrew and my sister Serena. We, like all the other white people there, packed sunscreen, electrolyte packets, and the most vile nips available and were ready to cheer uncontrollably for the first Celtics championship since I was 7 years old.
I took three rolls worth of photos that day. I wish I had a tighter lens but the 50mm does a good job at bringing context to the scene. The photos aren’t spectacular or anything but I’m thankful I took them after a disappointing end to the season and, even worse, a heartbreaking Tatum injury.
Amazingly, I never saved these photos once I got the scans back. I’ve never even looked at them until a couple days ago. I think there’s a lesson in there somewhere if you believe in that sort of thing.
As the Celtics look ahead to a year that many already consider lost. Unloading high payroll players seems to be a priority. It’s likely that the Jrue trade is just the beginning. I wanted to post these pictures to savor and celebrate a great team these past two seasons. Celtics forever. Fuck the Lakers. Thank you Jrue.

Sharing some random shots from a photoshoot Madaleine and I set up to try to get some headshots of ourselves. Working with limited space and taking full advantage of the newly painted wall in our living room, I think we got some keepers. Enjoy.

Excited to share a spec ad that @andrewl.mp4 I had lots of fun creating. Was fun to take advantage of the rooftop and the beautiful NYC skyline before it got too cold.
Wanted to thank @meerson.s for her wonderful work as production designer for this. As well as our very talented and good looking friends who you see in the ad. Also thank you of course to @brooklynbrewery for making great beer!

I took these photos the day after Christmas while running errands and getting breakfast with @brianfaxon21 around my hometown of Bedford, NH. It was a helluva hazy day and the weather gave a ton of mood to these. I had been gifted four rolls of expired film from my good pal @happysadbella and had been trying to get through them the past two months. Unfortunately, I have not had much success with them, even with compensating for their expiration I was terribly underexposing them. This was the first roll that I finally exposed correctly, which is too bad since it’s the last one.
It was my first time back in NH after being in NYC for about four months now. Going from cramped sidewalks and skyscrapers to the open and empty roads of the first 18 years of my life was an odd feeling. The feeling is only intensified by the holidays, which I’m sure a lot of you will agree is a weird time. Regardless, the weather seemed befitting.
I’m pretty happy with these photos. They’re significant to me because the streets featured are some that I’ve driven down thousands of times. If I were to close my eyes and think of a picture that summarized home for me. It just might be the intersection of 101 and 114. That may be a little sad to some but that’s car dependent northeast suburbia for you.
Happy New Year
