My mom’s life was not easy. They separated with my father when I was 6, and she used to juggle multiple jobs at a time just to make ends meet. Remembering my teen years, my dream was to be able to find a job good enough to make sure mom can just finally rest and enjoy life. Through all the hardships, my mom was always there for me, and I think her overflowing love and care really build a foundation of my life, because I knew she would always be there for me. It built a feeling that the world is a safe place, and I can make mistakes, fail, experiment, and always be loved. When I was in high school and said I wanted to host travelers at our apartment just to practice my English, my mom supported my plans. When I failed my first scholarship application to study in the US, my mom told me something better was waiting. After that, I found an opportunity to volunteer abroad, and while others said no, my mom trusted me and let me go to France by myself at 16, which changed my life forever. Only when I had a child did I realise how hard it is to be a mom, and I truly realised the effort needed to raise a human being. I am forever grateful to my mom for doing her best every day of her life, and impacting my life in every positive way. To my mom, to the moms in our community, and to every mom out there... Happy Mother’s Day 💖

Love sekebon buat Indonesia tercinta 🇮🇩❤️ Found my old photos from my very first trip to Indonesia back in 2014 when I fell in love with this country. I started learning Bahasa Indonesia since 2011 completely by chance as I got a uni scholarship and couldn’t choose what kind of language I would study as part of my major. At that time, I didn’t know anything about Indonesia but I was excited since only a few people in Russia were lucky to learn it! In 2014, I got a scholarship from Kementerian Luar Negeri Indonesia and stayed in Indonesia for more than 3 months! I lived in Bali, met amazing people, learned to play gamelan and traditional Balinese dances. That’s when I realised that I would love to live and work in Indonesia🇮🇩 After I finished my uni, I got an internship in NET TV as an assistant reporter and lived in kos kosan in Jakarta for 3 months until I moved to Singapore in 2016. I was so happy because it meant I would live close to Indonesia! In 2018, I started @singaporeguidebook , and during the pandemic, when my son Leon was born and my business suffered due to covid, I became a full-on virtual assistant and managed social media for my clients from home. And I was really surprised that the income I got was even more than the money I received pre-pandemic. In 2022, seeing that a trend for remote workers is increasing greatly, I decided to start @sgb_va an online course where I teach people how to start their remote careers from scratch. We started with a group of 15 people, and up to this moment, I mentored over 11,000 people on how to start their remote work journeys. I am so grateful to my amazing VA team, my students and alumni, and, of course, Indonesia, which since then became my second home🇮🇩 Saya cinta kalian! #mystory #sgbva #remotework #indonesia #singaporeguidebook

As founders, we often carry a lot behind the scenes, from keeping marketing consistent to managing leads, emails, and day-to-day operations. If you’ve been thinking about getting support but aren’t quite ready to commit to hiring yet, we’re opening a small number of spots for our 3-Week supervised remote support program. This free trial allows you to test structured delegation first, with initial focus on social media, lead generation, or email marketing, before deciding on a long-term hire. If you’re curious, feel free to DM me, and I’m happy to share more details.

Hatur nuhun for the warm welcome, Bandung! ❤️ Bandung wrapped up our SGB VA Course alumni gathering tour across Java Island, held from 11-14 April 2026. I'm so thankful that during this gathering, I got to share my vision for SGB VA Course in 2026 with all of you. It was also so fun playing games together and hearing your success stories. This was actually held on a weekday, so seeing so many of you come really made me so happy. It was such a joy meeting all of you 🥹 For those of you who couldn't make it, or if you're missing the moments and want to watch the full recap, comment "BANDUNG" and I'll send you the YouTube link!

Before becoming a mother, I had read many books about motherhood and thought I “got it”. But reality felt very different. Motherhood has probably been the most challenging, yet one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and it has stretched my heart in ways I could have never imagined. Being a mother taught me patience, softness, responsibility, surrender, and made me face my deepest fears and insecurities. It has truly been a journey of personal transformation. Some days feel magical, some feel exhausting, and some are a mixture of both… But looking at Leo, I know with certainty that becoming his mother was one of the greatest gifts of my life❤️ Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, we are all doing our best while still learning, healing, growing, and figuring life out along the way💫

One thing about working remotely is that sometimes you miss those genuine human interactions. That's why alumni gatherings like this always feel special to me ❤️ Meeting my alumni in person feels like meeting a new family, people who understand the same journey and support each other. Looking back at these photos from our Yogyakarta gathering really makes me feel grateful for the warm community we've built. If you'd like to watch the full recap and see more of the highlight moments from Yogyakarta Gathering event, comment "YOGYAKARTA" and I'll send you the link!

To organise an event in less than a week? Challenge accepted🤩 It was so exciting to partner up with you @yasminekhater to speak to business owners and executives about building impactful businesses and meaningful relationships with clients. I am very impressed with how you are able to engage with the audience and share so many insights from your lived experience❤️ Thanks so much to @mandalaclub.sg and @marcbraydon for helping us organise everything so well on such a short notice!

With everything that's happened lately, I've been reminded again of how strong women can be even in life's most difficult moments. And sharing this conversation this week felt especially meaningful. In this episode, I sit with Jacyln Chan who has gone through a divorce, a Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis, and the loss of her child. And through all of that, she learned something powerful: life doesn't always wait for us to "heal first" before asking us to keep going. We talked about: ❤️ How to learn to love yourself even when life feels heavy ❤️ Why grief can also be a reflection of deep love ❤️ What gratitude really looks like in difficult seasons This isn't a conversation about "moving on" quickly. It's about learning how to stay present even in life's hardest seasons. If you'd like to watch this full episode, comment "courage" and I'll send you the link. 🤍

From my experience working with many Indonesians and talking to my alumni, I've realized something worth sharing, especially since most of you are from Indonesia 🇮🇩 The salary of some common jobs in Indonesia is actually HIGHER when you work with international remote clients. Especially because the USD is a lot stronger than the Rupiah lately 😍 Here are a few job openings for common roles for Indonesian: 1️⃣ Marketplace Admin The job involves uploading products, updating listings, managing orders. Basically keeping an online store organized. 👉 Job opening: https://bit.ly/marketplaceadmin 2️⃣ Customer Support You are expected to reply to customers, answer questions, handling simple issues via email or chat. Great if you're patient and communicative. 👉 Job opening: https://bit.ly/customersupport-upwork 3️⃣ Virtual Assistant / General Admin As a VA, your task include scheduling, data entry, research, organizing files. Helping a client run their day-to-day. 👉 Job opening: https://bit.ly/adminVAjob These roles may look simple, but international clients still need them and are open to hiring remotely! If you want to know how to apply for these remote jobs, we host a FREE online session where we share how to start working remotely from zero. Just comment "JOB" and I’ll send you the details.
