After 42 years of a committed relationship with carbs, I cheated… with exercise.
Yes, I worked out. Repeatedly. Voluntarily. And weirdly… I liked it. Big shoutout (and mild resentment) to my trainer Mamta. The irony of her name isn’t lost on me because Her mission is usually To separate my body from my soul and then make both do lunges.
I used to make fun of the burpees with alphabetical belches. Turns out they’re not funny, at all. And they hurt.
But all is well with the world so I’m courageously posting this glow-up. Or what remains of it after a leg day that’s left me with no legs.
I can’t wait to get a six pack (of beer) and stare longingly at it while I eat cake. Kale. I mean Kale.

Woohoo. Another hero met. Early last year I had the pleasure of meeting my most favorite Director, Mani Ratnam. And he to date, remains the only “film” person I fan-boyed and took a picture with. Today, I met the other person on my wish list, who not only chatted with me passionately about his visual aesthetic but also promised to work with me, indie style, the day I find the material. @santoshsivanasc.isc is a LEGEND.
He inspired me to be a visual person. To look through the color, and the light at the movies. From the dancing dew drop in Terrorist, to the shaft of light in Dil Se, to the fabulous frames of Roja.
The humility, passion and art, that the man has, outshines the best of them. Today, where technicians are covering angles for safety and security, and leaving it to the grade, here’s a painter with nothing but a brush and a pen, looking for a canvas to tell his story.
@neverletgo early premiere at GenreCon Black Ticket had us on the edge of our seats. We legit couldn’t let go.
Out now in theaters.

I take great pleasure in strategically placing subtle visual cues as a director, hinting at the personalities and narratives of my characters. In this particular instance, Prakash's duality serves as a direct representation of his ambitions and personal growth, which plays a vital role in the overall storyline. Some may argue that these intricate details often go unnoticed by the audience, especially when the camera lingers for that extra second. However, I beg to differ. I would like to believe that I have an astute eye for such nuances, and I am unwavering in my commitment to infuse all of me, into every project I undertake. #LoveAdhura
