Truly honored that Confessions of a Mole will have its premiere at TIDF in the "Salute! Independent Chinese Documentary" section, and will compete for the TIDF Visionary Award in the cross-section competition.
This marks the film's first screening in the Chinese-speaking world—a milestone of immense significance for the entire team. In a world flooded with conflict and hostility, we hope we can still set aside prejudices and misunderstandings, and reclaim our faith in the power of love.
Hope this "mole's monologue" can reach across the strait, bringing a touch of solace and healing, and a warm embrace for the audience on the other side.

Mo Tan, znana z roli w „Minghun”, ale też z filmu „Listy z Wilczej”, teraz kieruje kamerę na siebie. Jeden mały pieprzyk. Tyle wystarczy, żeby zacząć rozmowę, której wszyscy unikali od lat.
Po siedmiu latach w Polsce reżyserka Mo Tan wraca do Chin na Nowy Rok. Rodzinne spotkanie szybko zmienia się w emocjonalną batalię: rodzice, wierząc w przepowiednię, domagają się usunięcia pieprzyka z jej twarzy. Gdy Mo zmaga się z diagnozą raka piersi i rozpadem związku, musi skonfrontować się z własną śmiertelnością i traumą pokoleniową. Dokumentalna intymność miesza się tu z tragicznym humorem w poszukiwaniu zrozumienia przeszłości i możliwości odbudowania miłości.

The most rewarding part wasn’t the screening itself, but the vulnerable conversations that followed. One girl told me she had been searching for an answer for an entire year, only to find it in the film—it allowed her to see through someone else’s eyes and finally understand.
Someone asked if making a film like this "solves" emotional struggles. The truth is, it doesn’t. Not handing the "remote control" of your emotions to others, and refusing to measure your worth by someone else's yardstick... that is a lifelong lesson for us all. 🕊️
