I drove to LA to film this short over the course of two days and had a blast. Morgan and Tessa did a great job performing and made moving on from scene to scene really easy, and Kyle did a great job coming up with blocking that made figuring out where to put the camera take two seconds. It was quite cold in the morning and perfect weather by noon. Postmates sent our lunch to the wrong location so we had a late Taco Bell back up break and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Special thank you to Josh Belveal for lending me his cartilini clamps to hold up the nanlites which did all the heavy lifting on the movie. Thank you to Chelsea Smalley for designing our poster and doing slate and errand runs for us, as well as Tessa O’Bryan for all the assistance. The crispy sound by Nathan Beausoleli. Also music by J.A.K yeah that piano sounds real nice I hear you can stream that song at the end.

I originally wrote GOOD DOGS as a ten-minute-play when I was 19. Back then, reception was…mixed lol. But those who loved it LOVED it. It’s surreal releasing the short film adaptation over a decade later.
Kyle and I started working on this together basically the moment we met in summer 2024. His passion has been crucial for sustaining our momentum. This guy LOVES FILMS. Doing or discussing anything film-related, he really comes alive. It’s cool to see.
Zane was an obvious choice to bring on. Zane can do literally anything. Zane is the MAN, man!
I feel cool every second I get to spend with Tessa. She is a cherishable goddess. An absolute star. A mentor to me in many ways. Look at these stills. Look at her gorgeous face. It’ll break yer friggin heart. Go watch on YouTube.
Lately, I’ve been bouncing between a few different roles on various projects that I’m excited about. Collabing with Tessa as much as possible before she leaves for grad school (😭). Thrilled to keep making things and building my lil art communities.
