Abstract
This collection explores the tension between
play and suffocation through the transformation of plastic bags from soft, inflated forms
to burnt, rigid surfaces. Dressed as a clown, I
highlight the absurdity of overconsumption
celebrating excess while being physically
constrained by the waste it generates. We
are quite literally being choked by our own
overconsumption. The jewelry becomes both
ornament and trap, an illusion of beauty that
tightens around the body and interrupts
movement.
Through humor, discomfort, and material
transformation, the work exposes how the
consequences of our consumption ultimately
return to the body itself.
