Korrash Veythar is the heart of Uzekh’s economy, and its most dangerous negotiator. As master of the Amber Exchange, he controls the flow of gems that fuel the city’s trade with elemental spirits. His hall, lined with glowing geodes and cut stones, is as much a temple to commerce as it is a seat of power.
Every trade in Uzekh, every gem mined in the tunnels, every crystal offered to a spirit, every ounce of ore smelted in the forges, eventually passes through Korrash’s ledgers. He is not a warrior or a craftsman, but a man who sees the invisible veins of the desert: the flow of wealth, power, and influence. In many ways, he has become the desert’s treasurer.
Korrash presents himself as a pragmatic leader, arguing that Uzekh’s prosperity depends on careful balance between trade, politics, and spirit-bargains. But beneath the diplomacy lies ambition. He dreams of turning Uzekh into a desert capital, not just a city of survivors, but a civilization that dictates the rhythm of the sands. Those who stand in his way rarely vanish violently; they simply find their contracts voided and their fortunes gone.

Sa’aphar is the Djinni ruler of the Gale Oasis, a drifting sanctuary suspended high above the dunes of Orissane. He is restless and unpredictable, embodying both the freedom and the volatility of the desert winds. Sa’aphar permits travellers to rest and draw water from his oasis, but only those who bring him offerings of sound such as a song, a poem, or a tale worth the wind’s attention, may stay longer.
