π¨ BREAKING: YOUNG PERSON ARRESTED ON LUNCH BREAK
Take Back Power supporter Ella was arrested on her lunch break earlier today, after the police identified her through facial recognition.
She was surrounded by police, who carried her into a van after arresting her on suspicion of "theft".
4 million children are living in food poverty in this country. Yet the police are so far in the back pockets of the billionaires that they'd rather arrest people nonviolently taking a stand against inequality than look at the corrupt politicians and billionaire tax evaders.
Since Take Back Power began last December, there have been 53 arrests and 30 house raids. This repression will not intimidate us.

π¨ BREAKING: TAKE BACK POWER LIBERATE ESSENTIALS FROM TESCO
3 people have just redistributed essential items from a local Tesco - taking them without paying and delivering to food bank donation points, to go to the people who need them most.
In 2024, 6.5 million people were forced to use food banks. Meanwhile, the CEO of Tesco is taking home 430 times more than the average Tesco employee.
It's time ordinary people got to decide how to tax the rich.

4.5.26. May Day. London.
Arrests and frivolity aplenty in the streets of London yesterday.
@takeback.power made a strong showing in the parade after one of their members was arrested for redistributing food to a foodbank from a supermarket.
Great to see such positive scenes on the streets only ruined by the violent and unnecessary policing on display.
Take Back Power join the MayDay march in London in Solidarity with International Workers Day. TBP is a campaign which sees activists taking goods from corporate chain supermarkets and redistributing them to local food banks.
π¨ BREAKING: 9 OFFICERS ARREST 1 YOUNG PERSON AT MAY DAY MARCH
Take Back Power supporter Ella has just been arrested for theft by 9 police officers at the start of the May Day march.
She tried to hand herself in on Friday after liberating food from Tesco and giving it to a food bank, but they refused to take her. In fact, the officer at the desk told her she was doing the right thing.
Guess they changed their minds on that.
Since our campaign began, we have had 51 arrests and 29 house raids. Meanwhile, billionaires continue to hoard wealth and 4 million children live in food poverty.

What the HELL??? Nine cops take out one @takeback.power activist at the Clerkenwell May Day rally - because they supposedly broke bail conditions after expropriating food from supermarkets to give to hungry children via food banks. The world has gone mad.
Absurd and wasteful action by the Met Police this afternoon raiding a (checks notes...) 'Non violence' training workshop in Hyde Park organised by Take back Power. Twelve cops involved in the actual arrest. Two more van loads of TSG parked nearby.
Which is a considerable amount of resources to arrest (checks notes...) one person. Considering that Take back Power have yet to make the headlines I can't help thinking that all this attention that they're getting from the thought police is just gifting them publicity that money can't buy for their actions and ideas.
Also why exactly are the cops disrupting training in non-violence. Surely it is in their interests to allow this to go ahead. Would they prefer these activists to be teaching each other Karate?
