Tailtiu is an artist, producer and songwriter from Belfast, redefining the edges of pop and club music. Influenced by artists like La Roux, Jai Paul, M.I.A., and SOPHIE, her sound leans into experimental production, direct melodies, and emotional texture.
Named after the Irish goddess Tailtiu, she draws from that legacy while forging her own space in music. From the age of 4 she competed in the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann for a decade, playing the concertina entirely by ear and composing her own pieces - laying the foundation for her distinctive sound and instinct for unusual rhythms.
Self-taught in production from the age of 11, she started out producing for internet rappers. “Eventually, my beats got too weird for the rap boys,” she says, “so I moved on to other sounds and other weirdos.” This led to an ongoing collaboration with Babymorocco, including production on his debut album Amour, international tours as his DJ and releases on PHATBOY.
