Theres been some heated conversation about a fish best eaten unheated. Atlantic Bonito are an awesome (and delicious) fish thats spends a few weeks in our nearshore waters each spring as they migrate north. Recently becoming much easier to target and catch with newer technology and fishing techniques, the state is finally considering putting some regulations on these fish, instead of leaving them completely unmanaged. Its been interesting hearing everyone's pov, but if you want to argue against management and you call them "bonitA", your opinion is instantly invalidated. Just sayin'
Still so much to learn about the life cycle and migration of False Albacore. For example, why do the monsters show up throughout the spring (like this one) and then only occasionally throughout the fall run. In the month of October we see plenty of average size albies and rarely see a buffalo, but in April its almost all buffalo and no regular size fish.
