THE UGLY MIDDLE.
“Feeling stuck is one thing, wanting to quit is another.”
No one talks about how draining it is when your mood is constantly switching between “keep going, it’ll get better” and“I can’t do this anymore.
I’m about to give up.” it’s like your emotions are constantly swinging, leaving you both hopeful and defeated in the same day.
However, continuing is the bravest thing you can do!
A personal piece I’ve been putting off for a while.
Editing this wasn’t easy, but some stories deserve to be told, no matter how long it takes.

What does work do to the body?
1/5 docu-series project I’m currently working on: “BODY AT WORK.”
This project explores the human body as an instrument of survival.
Through the lives of a mechanic, bricklayer, tailor, and a barber, this Short Documentary observes how daily labor shapes, strains, and transforms the body.
This documentary is not about poverty, hardworking Africans or inspiration.
It is about the rhythm & physical cost of labor, the silent negotiations between survival and the human body.

It’s easy to think nothing is happening in moments like this……just people sitting, water flowing, time passing. But if you look closely, there are stories everywhere. In the way someone pauses a little longer, in distant stares, in quiet laughter.
Everyone is carrying something, memories, thoughts, questions, dreams.
And for a moment, all those stories exist in the same space, even if they never meet.

VOICES BY THE LAGOON was born from real experiences and real emotions.
Seeing it receive an Official Selection at the New York Movie Awards @newyorkmovieawards reminds me why I tell stories the way I do. I’m proud of the work, the journey, and the experience.
Grateful for another recognition on @filmfreeway and excited for what’s next!
This is only the beginning!

BABY FEVER was conceived as a 5 episode documentary series. Although my friends were prepared to participate, circumstances led to only one woman being filmed.
I look forward to expanding the project and documenting more women to give their voices & stories the space they deserve.
