✊ Mad folks don’t reject care—we reject coercion. Being Mad shouldn’t mean being silenced, locked up, or overmedicated. This post breaks down the difference between harmful “help” and real support: ✅ Consent-based ✅ Peer-led ✅ Grounded in justice and dignity We’re not asking for nothing. We’re asking for better. #madpride #madmovement #madstudies #reclaimmadness #livedexperience #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness

🩺 When “care” becomes control—this post breaks down the roots of coercive psychiatry. 🚨 Forced medication 🚨 Involuntary diagnosis 🚨 Locked wards & police-led “wellness checks” These aren’t acts of care. They are tools of power that strip Mad people of autonomy. But we’ve always resisted—with peer support, meaning-making, and collective care. 🔥 We’re not broken—we’re breaking free. #psychabolition #psychiatricharm #psychiatriccare #madpride #madmovement #madstudies #reclaimmadness #livedexperience #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness

Understanding the Mad Movement doesn’t stop at awareness. It looks like: showing up, learning continuously, and standing alongside lived experience — not speaking over it. Visibility matters. Community matters. Action matters. #madpride #madstudies #madmovement #livedexperience #livedexperience

Part 1 🎤 “What biases can we unlearn to better understand the Mad Movement?” It starts small. The words we use. The assumptions we don’t question. Unlearning sanism isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being curious, staying open, and choosing to listen. Because understanding begins when we’re willing to rethink what we’ve been taught. #madpride #madstudies #madmovement #mentalhealthawareness #livedexperience

💥 New Mad Archives Story: Madness, Knowledge, and the Humane Clinic What happens when you stop looking for answers only in psychiatry — and start finding them in community, literature, and lived experience? 🧠 Our latest Mad Archives story shares Hannah Ranger’s journey through madness, multiple diagnoses, and heavy psychiatric treatment — and the moment something shifted. It wasn’t another diagnosis. It was community. Through the Hearing Voices group at the Humane Clinic, Hannah found: 🌱 non-judgemental space 📚 Mad knowledge & alternative perspectives 🤝 solidarity with others 🧠 language beyond pathology What followed was a powerful shift — from being “treated” to reclaiming meaning, autonomy, and narrative authority. Mad Archives exists to document these stories. Not as symptoms — but as knowledge, resistance, and lived truth. ✊ 📖 Read Hannah’s story: /mad-archives #madpride #madstudies #livedexperience
