Follow @tabaria.cafe for more details! 📸 slide 2 by @mahaalasmar.photography عربي: أنا فاطمة، فلسطينية وُلدت ونشأت في سوريا. بعد أن قررت التوقف عن عملي الجزئي في يوليو، قمت ببدء مقهى منزلي يدعى طبريا مع قائمة ووعاء للبقشيش، حيث كنت أقدم القهوة فقط لأصدقائي وعائلتي. بعد الهجوم على غزة، وبعد مواصلة التظاهر بلا نهاية والشعور بالذنب والعجز؛ فكرت في نفسي: لماذا لا أجعل طبريا شيئًا كبيرًا؟ لماذا لا أجعلها مجتمعًا للأشخاص الذين يدعمون القضية؟ جاءت لي هذه الفكرة لأنني أشعر بأننا جميعًا بحاجة إلى مثل هذا المكان - مكان للحزن واعتناق الثقافة الفلسطينية معًا. كفلسطينية وُلدت في المنفى، أشعر في كثير من الأحيان بالانفصال عن تراثي وثقافتي. ولكنني لا أريد ذلك؛ أريد أن أكون أكثر ارتباطاً. أريد أن أتمسك بهذا الجزء مني وأخلق مساحة لنا كفلسطينيين لإعادة الاتصال بثقافتنا، وللآخرين للتعرف عليها. ستكون هذه المساحة فرصة لنكون فلسطينيين معًا. في التظاهرات غالبًا ما نردد "نحن جميعًا فلسطينيون". إذا كنا جميعًا فلسطينيين، فعلينا أن نمتلك مكانًا لنتعلم المزيد عن فلسطين وثقافتها. إنها ليست مجرد حرب واحتلال؛ إنها أكثر من ذلك بكثير، والاحتلال يحاول أن يدفن هذا الجزء من فلسطين. لن نتوقف في الحديث عما يحصل في غزة، في الضفة الغربية، وفي جميع أنحاء فلسطين المحتلة، ولكن لنتحدث أيضًا عن شعب فلسطين. لسنا مجرد أرقام على الشاشة. نحن بشر - لدينا أحلام وهوايات ومواهب تمامًا مثلك. هذا المشروع هو رسالة إلى الاحتلال وحلفائه: ستحاولون سرقة إنسانيتنا، وسنواصل على إعادتها من جديد. شكر خاص لجميع المتطوعين الذين يساعدونني طوال العملية، ولكل واحد منكم قام بالتبرع لتحقيق هذا الحلم. ولجميع الفنانين والمتاجر والمنظمات التي قدمت المساعدة والتعاون مع مقهى طبريا المتنقل. ولـUtopie grand cafe على المساعدة والسماح لنا بالاستضافة هناك. سأكون شاكرة إلى الأبد. سأقاوم إلى الأبد، وسأصرخ إلى الأبد، فلسطين حرة.

New additions to the food line-up arrive in Het Twiske this year to satisfy your cravings, with locally sourced ingredients from producers around Oostzaan and the Zaan region!⁠ ⁠ Come try the Ukrainian soups from @mirrorsoupkitchen , with every purchase directly supporting soup kitchens in Ukraine, or stop by @tabaria.cafe , a non-profit pop-up cafe celebrating and honouring Palestinian heritage while raising funds and awareness for humanitarian support. Returning this edition are local Het Twiske icon @pannenkoekdeappel with their signature pancakes, and @europizza.rest , serving pizzas and a rich selection of natural wines. ⁠ ⁠ For Malaysian food, head to BAHAYA, part of @cantina.mobile.official . To flush it all down, all our bars will have two chef-approved cocktails on tap this year, designed in collaboration with @amanti_cocktails and @diageo : a Paloma and a Kyiv Mule!⁠

English / Arabic 📚✨ iEJAZ and Tabaria are organizing a Palestinian Authors & Artists Exhibition in collaboration with Taste & Tales cafe - Amara in The Hague 🗓️ Date: May 30 ⏰ Time: 13:00 – 18:00 📍 Location: Amare, the Hague During this event, we will showcase a selection of Palestinian authors and artists, with a special focus on contemporary young talents. The aim is to highlight their work, create a direct bridge of connection between us and writers/artists in Palestine -especially in Gaza- and support them by keeping them connected to the wider world. This year, @tabaria.cafe is making their way to Lentekabinet, bringing its food truck and much more! Moving from festivals to fundraisers and community kitchens, Tabaria serves as a travelling cultural café for Palestinians and the wider SWANA diaspora, where strangers become guests, and guests become family.⁠ ⁠ But first, tomorrow we team up for a special screening of Arna’s Children (2003) at @fchyena , accompanied by a talk by Mustafa Staiti and a mini market.⁠ ⁠ Entry is free. Join us for two special evenings in Amsterdam Noord on Thursday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 13. First off, we will have a special screening of Arna’s Children (2003) presented by Tabaria Café accompanied by a talk of Mustafa Staiti and a mini market by Tabaria Café and Turning Tables. On the second date, LAB presents “Rewilding”, an evening that brings together film, visual arts, and performance to focus on observing, imagining and reconnecting with nature. Parham Ghalamdar’s(@Parham.Ghalamdar ) ‘The Sight is a Wound’ (2025) confronts the limits of image-making in times of extreme violence. In this video-poem, Ghalamdar burns over 50 of his own paintings, transforming years of exhibited work into ash as a response to the overwhelming circulation of images emerging from Gaza. Through this act of destruction, Ghalamdar questions what it means to create, witness, and remain ethically present in an age of relentless visual saturation. Blurring ritual, mourning, and critique, ‘The Sight is a Wound’ reflects on complicity, desensitization, and the fragile power of representation. The work stands as both a meditation on loss and a challenge to reconsider the role of art when reality itself exceeds the frame. December also holds layered meanings: it marks the fall of Assad, a turning point that invites Syrians to reflect on a year of liberation from dictatorship and on a future beyond repression. And while dates shift, the truth remains: the violence of the Zionist regime across Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria reminds us that solidarity must stay unwavering and rooted in shared struggle. This extends to our Sudanese siblings, who continue to endure devastating violence, mass displacement, and an ongoing genocide. Our struggles are interconnected, and so is our liberation. We will be screening “To Kill A War Machine”, a documentary which shows the importance and struggles of direct action, through raw footage of Palestine Action UK’s activities in directly resisting the “war machinery” behind Israel’s genocide on Gaza, by targeting arms manufacturers throughout the UK. *this film has now been taken down by the filmakers in the UK following the House of Commons vote on “Terrorism Act 2000” which has proscribed Pal Action as a terrorist group.
