I made this Doom Slayer tattoo about two years ago, to remind myself about the events of the past - I was going through some really-really horrible times, and I was struggling mentally just to keep up with my normal life. Dark times.
It felt as If I was in hell, literally: couldn’t force myself to get up in the mornings, and struggled to fall asleep. Paranoia accompanied me anywhere I went.
But in the moments of absolute hopelessness, I reminded myself of a Doom Slayer who dove in hell and came back a triumphant.
I came back a triumphant and made it out of hell, reclaiming my normal self back.
The symbolism behind the game is really simple, but kept my heart pumping: a relentless battle with forces of evil.
My point is that Doom Slayer isn’t just a game character - Doom Slayer actually lives in every one of us: we face our own demons and hordes of imps within ourselves on a daily basis. Sometimes we struggle mentally, and sometimes it’s a major source of pain, but no matter what, we will find a way to come back stronger and fight back, crushing through the darkness.
I dedicate this tattoo to all of those struggling with mental health, going through some really horrible events in their lives.
I also want to thank
@Bethesda and the
@Doom team for bringing us this masterpiece of a game and celebrate the release day of Doom: Eternal.
Keep on slaying the filth with a smile on your face.
RIP AND TEAR.
