The night before…
My friends are tired of me saying this BUT I always knew I would have a small intimate wedding. So let me start by saying, to those who may not have received an invitation, it’s still all love 🤎
I actually wasn’t even going to have a reception, thank God for my brother
@admiralsoye . I always envisioned a celebration with people who I had intimate stories with. People who knew me from the SOUL. Some of my friends are recent bonds, some of them are decades long. Some friends I have known since I was 12. Some are by extension of my husband. Ultimately, everyone that was present, especially the night before is embedded in the fabrics of my destiny.
I thank God for my sisterhood, my friends and those who will part the seas for me. I’m talking about people that have taken my life as their own and taken it personally! I thank God for the gift of MEN. Truly, God has been merciful to me in the people I have been able to cross paths with and those who have stuck with me! Words really fail me to describe my tribe but I thank God for them every single day!
It feels like I inherited a gift from my father. His death really solidified something I have always known. He was a GOOD man, surrounded by GOOD people. This is what legacy looks like. As you can imagine as somebody who loved my dad to pieces, I thought of him leading up to this special day, on the day itself, and I continue to think about his mark after.
