Crazy VHS haul! I came across a listing on the local Facebook Marketplace for a big box of VHS, DVD, and blu-ray. There was nothing remarkable shown in the photo except that I was pretty sure I recognized Friday the 13th 4: The Final Chapter (all I could see was “3th” poking out from behind the other tapes). The guy was asking $600, but said he was about to move and needed to get rid of them so he accepted my offer of $100. I never take risks like this but I figured if the only thing of interest in the box was the F13 4 tape I could probably at least make some of my money back re-selling. I drove about an hour and picked them up that same day. When I started unboxing them I was absolutely floored. Not only was there a lot more horror than I anticipated, I got Friday the 13th Part 5, 6, 7, and 8 all BRAND NEW SEALED. I couldn’t believe it. I felt like I had found gold. It has been a few days and I still haven’t quite come down from the excitement. In the first picture is just the stuff I’m definitely keeping. This is all the horror and a couple of other exciting finds. There are still probably 50 tapes and maybe 30 DVD/blu in the box. Nothing super remarkable, but I may keep a handful more. My dude @cheersupcinema always wants to see some new pickups and I can’t let the boss man down. I finally decided to upgrade the Child’s Play series to 4k. Chucky deserves it. I still need to grab Curse and Cult. I also picked up a few action favorites from @arrowvideo and @mvdentertainmentgroup , and I hit up @lionsgatehome for a couple of Vestron Collector’s Series titles, including one of my all-time favorite comedies The Stoned Age, appropriately released yesterday on 4/20. I’m super happy to own a copy and excited to dig into the special features.
