This January I took a songwriting class with one of my favorite artists @blakemills through the @school_of_song . Using the words of Virginia Wolf through a blackout poem, I tried to express everything I learned in this class. This final project was the result. I recorded everything (minus the drums - got those from @dkthedrummer samples on Splice) in my little office between a Friday night and Saturday morning.
Big thanks to Blake and all of School of Song for providing this class. It really unlocked some doors in my mind.
Do something hard this year. Give yourself permission to try.

Hey y’all! Have a little introduction of myself for you if you don’t already know about me. I’m Tyler (@t.cutforth ) and I mainly play guitar, sing back up behind Nick, and collaborate on the song writing. You can hear a bit more of me in our song Wandering Pines. That’s me behind those words both writing and singing. I’ve been playing with City of Pines since just before lockdown in 2019. I hail from the same small town as Nick, but I currently live in Seattle, WA, USA. I love good food, a good fantasy book (currently in the middle of Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson) and really value my rest time. I love music and my current go to album is Joy, As an Act of Resistance by Idles or Abbey Road by The Beatles, or Notes with Attachments by Pino Palladio and Blake Mills, or anything by Little Simz. It really changes by the minute. My other gig is in Graphic Design, and I love trying to be as stylish as I can be. I’m a big time soccer fan and my teams are THE Seattle Sounders and Tottenham Hotspurs! COYS My current non-music activity taking over is playing and collecting Magic the Gathering with my friends. But there’s definitely more to come this week. I’m excited to share a bit of my world with y’all!
