It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of my beautiful and incredible mother, June Harvey, on Thursday, the 3rd of October.
Her death was unexpected, and it has come as a monumental shock to both me, Matt Nangle and the rest of her family and friends.
Although we are still coming to terms with what has happened, we take comfort in the fact that Mother's passing was in the comfort of me and Fiona Changs bed, most likely snuggled up with our cats Boogie and Tilly.
It is hard to put into words how much she meant not just to me, but to so many people around the world. She was, and probably will always be, the most beautiful, genuine, kind-hearted and purest person I have ever met.
Mum was the kind of person who would talk to anyone, and gave 100 per cent of her joy and kindness to others, usually before herself. She believed in the best of people, and I hope that if I can take even a fraction of her soul with me through my life, the world will be an undeniably brighter and happier place.
One of the biggest things that has helped Matt and me the most has been the unshakable and unwavering love and support we have received from friends and extended family. We are so grateful to everyone, especially Claire Jackson and all her friends in Cornwall, who have helped us through these unfamiliar and daunting waters.
We are so happy to hear that Mum has had as much of an impact on people's lives, as she did on ours.
We will be giving out more information about her funeral when we can, as we are still awaiting information.
As much as I feel from time to time that it’s going to be impossible to do this without you, I feel a great warmth and a steady hand get me back up to my feet.
Me and Matthew will be alright, I know we will, because you raised us.
Thank you, Mum, for everything.
It's been a while since there was any update on our film 'Shade" but coming into the new year I wanted to give a little update on how it did in 2023.
Very happy to announce that Shade managed to pick up eight awards! Including an official selection at @goldenshortfilmfestival , @monochromefilmfestival and won at the @goldenlion.international !
As it enters 2024 and it's final year, we hope it can pick up a few more along the way :)
A massive thank you to all those who supported this film directly and indirectly, and to all those who worked on it!
