We are very excited to announce the third installment of Systems of Release. This next issue will be our broadest scope yet packed with interviews, written pieces, photographs, Q&As from the community, research projects developed by our team and more! This has been challenging in the best way and we are so proud to continue to develop this project and all its iterations.
Come celebrate with us on Saturday May 2nd from 12-5PM at Trans-Pecos where we will be hosting an all day event filled with vendors and lectures from the electronic music community. Throughout the day there will music, tea and drinks for your enjoyment and of course all three issues of Systems of Release will be for sale! More details coming soon! We hope you’ll join us in celebrating New York City’s nightlife and the power of print. Ticket link in bio!
Still feeling the energy that everyone brought last Wednesday while we celebrated the release of issue two. Thank you again to everyone who pulled up.
SOR has been slowly building its archive through culmination of hard work inspired by our adoration for this scene and each web that makes it up. We think issue two is an even better reflection of that than the last. In this issue we got interviews with djs, producers, artists, club owner, those holding it down front and back of house, writings, studio visits, rave memory maps, nightlife film photography, bossa’s bacteria, sonic liberation devices, and bits from our ephemera archive.
This was our most ambitious issue so for and it wasn’t done without every bit of support. Special shout out to the team who brought each piece to life and hand bound each magazine. @alyadoesthings@__________341a4@circuitboardgenius@demorobilia@following_soil@thereisnohansel@finn.the.gold.fish Eric Chung
Our website is updated and this issue is available for purchase + shipping. We offer drop off and pick up in you’re local! @systemsofrelease.com
And shoutout to the design lab for helping us print when our printer broke the night before the party! Xx and Bossa ofc ;)

Thanks to everyone always. Couldn’t have made it without the community; for the people by the people with all the soresssss.
Get to know our first machine, The Palestine Drum Liberator, through an intimate conversation with @themusicofomar@lita.systems and @systemsofrelease ~ Our first machine is foundational to our continuous exploration of developing technologies rooted in history, care and solidarity. It inspired our first machine for purchase, debuting for pre-order June 3rd. Before chatting more about that, take some time to understand our first model, what it taught us and how it continues to inspire the work we do. (video Interview link in bio)

We had the pleasure of spending a day with Jesús Hilario-Reyes (@morenxx_x ) in their studio space at Yale exploring their MFA thesis, Slip Index. This is an interview zine featuring the entire transcript of our conversation with Jesús about each piece in Slip Index + a studio chat. It was an incredibly fruitful and inspiring opportunity to speak with them and learn more about the details of their process.
