System of slaves es una banda procedente de Cardiff (Gales) formada por Keda a la voz, Paul a la guitarra, Fletch al bajo y Chris a la batería, todos ellos músicos experimentados dentro de la escena hardcore punk y extrema de su país. Lo que practican aquí es una mezcla entre hardcore punk y crust, con mucha velocidad, rabia y mensajes incendiarios escupidos por la potente voz de su vocalista femenina Keda. "Live not by líes... at one time we dared not even whisper"(2025) es su segundo álbum de larga duración, una edición a cargo de Engineer Records, Deviance, DIY Kolo, Mass Productions y Blind Destruction Records. "Sacred cow" abre fuego con una atmósfera cuasi doom, que va ganando dinamismo a medida que avanza el tema. Enlazada con esta, irrumpe a toda velocidad "Victim", hardcore punk rabioso con una letra que transmite decepción y desesperanza. Tras un riff con trazas metaleras llega "They lie", que va mezclando pasajes veloces de incesante doble bombo con otros más cadenciosos, así como pinceladas guturales. "Sanctimony" es mucho más directa, zapatilla hardcore sin concesiones, con unos llamativos solos de guitarra que enriquecen el resultado final. El tema que da nombre a la banda "System of slaves" es una coctelera sonora en la que se dan cita guitarras thrasher, cavernosos guturales y abruptos breaks rítmicos. Las guitarras limpias de "Sex robot" suponen un pequeño respiro de tralla, algo que dura poco, ya que los gritos de Keda y las murallas de distorsión acaban envolviéndolo todo. "Did I?" cuenta con un punto más oscuro y apocalíptico, propiciado por la mayor variedad de ritmos, todo ello sin abandonar su rocoso sonido de base. "Recreant" es un vendaval de un minuto de crust hardcore que impacta con fuerza en nuestros tímpanos, al que le sigue "Redemption", con un minutaje superior y la influencia metalera más evidente. Un arpegio con sonido arabesco nos da paso a "Trust overcome", un tema diferente, con un primer tramo de tempo cadencioso y texturas cercanas al post hardcore, y una segunda parte más dinámica. "The lie we live" vuelve a pisar el acelerador antes de dar por finalizado el recorrido con "Discard", con una estupenda linea de bajo
