A filter with a flat frequency response? What would that be good for? As it turns out, these form the building blocks of many systems like phasers and reverbs. Here we show a simple example of using an all pass to get some of these awesome sounds.

High level view of an oscillator you can build with only a Schmitt trigger, and an integrator (with one of them inverting) that provides both a triangle and square wave output! You can find an implementation of this circuit in The Art of Electronics under 'Op-amp application: triangle-wave oscillator'. It's interesting to see in real life how the response of the Schmitt trigger changes based on frequency!

Bet you didn't know there was a generalized state variable filter topology! Here's a quick demonstration / tutorial for the simplest SVF, which gives us a high pass and a low pass filter.
