Art has the power to hold a mirror up to us and to push us to be the best versions of ourselves. Like so many of us involved with The Great Wall of LA project, I had no idea it existed despite living here for over 20 years. The history of our city and country is painted on the side of a storm channel in the Valley. The Wall is a reminder that we have the power to write our own stories and our own destiny. So many incredible artists have come together to make this collaboration possible. I am so honored to be a part of it. From the sewer to the symphony…to the screen. #greatwalloflosangeles #laphil #anonymouscontent #sparcla #alejandroginnaritu 📸: @insdangraming

When I first moved to San Francisco in 1998, one of the first people I met was Craig (sorry I could never call him Mantis). He introduced me to Jeff Buckley, David Foster Wallace, EverQuest, and my first underground rave. He convinced me that work was for suckers so we bought a boat and learned to sail it. We quit our jobs and set off for the high seas. While our trip and the boat got off to a fiery start and left us both with some serious scars (some more visible than others), we were forever linked by what we’d been through. His was a light that could not be contained and the world feels dimmer without him. 🖤🖤🖤
Millersmiths take Europe part 1! Copenhagen! Mange Tak @akselk for showing us a grand time and sweet Rita for turning 11 and Milo as super babysitter. Dinner at @restaurantalchemist was sublimely unique, @tivolicph always a thrill. Many compliments on my @belkazan pants set, ditto @blackiboys on Colin. Indtil næste gang!
The best cold toast with jam and no butter bc he couldn’t find it I’ve ever had. Such a gift to be this wonderful persons mama. Miss my Mom loads today but having this one wake me up at 6:30am with giggles and scurrying makes me feel like she’s here with me, telling me again that this is the best part. Happy Mother’s Day. 💖💖💖

Just got back from dropping off supplies to the Eaton Canyon Pasadena Station 66 Fire house. They put out an ask last night for supplies and boy did Eagle Rock and Nela Moms show up. They have a ton of visiting firefighters there, 150 yards from the origin area of the Eaton fire. They were so appreciate of the supplies. One firefighter who had come down from Oregon said his faith and people working together has been restored. Also that they have a couple of hot spots up there, but not to worry it’s nothing they can’t handle. When we work together, we can really do anything. ❤️❤️❤️
