Helen Lee (they/she) is a Queer Asian Chicago-born interdisciplinary artist raised by immigrant parents from South Korea. They received an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA in Dance and Theatre from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. They have residencies and/or presented works in the US, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Iceland, Finland and Canada. They have been an Artist in Residence at Chicago Artists Coalition, Chicago Cultural Center, Links Hall, and High Concept Labs at Mana Contemporary. Helen was selected as a Newcity Breakout Artist in 2022, was a 2024 Chicago Dancemakers Forum Lab Artist, and Finalist for the Dance/USA Fellowships to Artists program. Meet Chien-An Yuan, mentor to NW26 artist @the___margin See ‘trace’ WIP showing April 25th - RSVP link in bio. Chien-An Yuan is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and educator based in Ann Arbor, MI. Yuan runs 1473, a record label specializing in improvisation, electronics, and collaboration. He is also a founding member of the AAPI performance collaborative IS/LAND, co-founder of the Ann Arbor art space Cluster Museum, and founder and director of the KYLYN AAPI Arts & Culture Festival, now in its third year. His work has been featured in The New Yorker, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, NewCity, Salon, ArtSlant, Huffington Post, and WNYC.
