In an average life, your eyes will see 24 million different images.
Eyes may be the window to the soul, but the truth is - eyes don’t see at all. Eyes are just the mechanisms that translate the waves and particles of environment into data, sending information down the optic nerve for the brain to construct into reality.
Eyes are one of the most complex cameras on this earth, coming in at 576 megapixels with over 2 million working parts. And yet, seeing is more than just than just neurons firing. More than a prediction machine. More than the brain’s best guess at the causes of its sensory input.
It’s a fantasy that collides with reality.
As creators of our own genius evolution with the innovation of technology, what have we done with it?
will we share our best parts, our sentience, our consciousness ? What sets us “apart” ?
or is that what we’re afraid of?
