I wrote this poem a year ago while protesting and processing my anger. In the midst of ongoing genocides and American complicity, I hope it invigorates you as much as it motivates me.

We’re back! The next Writing for Revolution happens tomorrow. The theme is “Where is the bomb? Where is it going?
This is a generative writing workshop, so no previous experience is required.
All proceeds this month benefiting @oaklandarmsembargo actively working to stop the US from flying military cargo out of Oakland’s airport and the @antipoliceterrorproject a Black led, multi-racial intergenerational coalition fighting to eradicate police terror in communities of color by supporting families seeking for justice and accountability, documenting and giving impacted families and community crucial legal and healing based resources, among others.

I went to a workshop led by @tinovhjr where he asked where are the places where we don’t feel safe and what do we need to feel safe. In thinking about all of the catcalls I’ve been experiencing recently, I realized the wildest parts of me kept me the most safe in spaces where my smiles are taken wrongly as invitations.
This is a little draft of a poem I wrote about it. Also, there’s a lot of cursing in this one, in case that’s not your vibe💜
